Not sure how different the WBH model is, but on my '03 1500 with cladding, they can be easily reached from behind (under the bumper). Twist to unlock and pull out the socket.

Slide under the front bumper and they are right there next to the fog lites. A simple twist and turn and they are out, and it makes for an easy first mod to ambers if you so desire.

The owners manual on my WBH shows the procedure for the cladded truck. They are totally different.
For the WBH you must slide the headlamp retaining pins out horizontally and remove the headlamps. Do them one at a time and hold the headlamp housing (dont remove the bulbs) after you slide the headlamp housing forward, look down at the DRL and turn/park lamp housing. The part closest to the center of the truck has a prong like piece that slips into a slot, the outer part actually clips into a slot. you must apply pressure to the clip to release it. when it releases slide the DRL housing forward to access the lamps. I usually put the headlamp back at this time so that I dont have to hold it or let it dangle.
The DRL bulbs come out by pressing the tab on the outside of the lamp holder and turning it to unlock it.
reverse the procedure to put it back together.
The only thing to watch when putting it back is to get the tab into the slot and then slide the clip back into the tab and listen and feel for it to click into place.
send me a message if you need any help.

Looks like the cladded version is much easier... if you do have the cladded version, as you say, then it can be done from underneath as others have said... no tools, no effort and will take but a few seconds.

The procedure for the WBH is exactly the same as for the 03 Silverado. After you have done it once it is very easy. Plus you dont have to lay on the ground. That is a good thing since it is 34 degrees and snowing right now.

Thanks all, mission accomplished. ;D

This is correct for the hi/lo beam lamps but the DRL on my `02 cladded Avalanche are adjacent to the fog lights and easily accessible from underneath.
But then again, I've been wrong before...

My passenger side drl, wouldn't come on.
I got the light working by "jiggling" the lamp within the socket, while the drl's were ON, so it makes an electrical "contact". The socket is cheap. It's similar to Christmas tree lighting, where you have to "mess" with the lights sometimes.
The truck has to be in neutral, while tampering with the light, SO DON'T LET THE TRUCK ROLL OVER YOUR ARM !
