I know there are temperature ranges in which to mount these.
The question is if I bring the AV into a heated garage and mount
the domed patriotic cladding and tailgate decals, will going out into the cold after mounting ruin them. Should I wait for next spring instead of taking a chance they will be flapping in the breeze?
Thoughts? Comments? Sarcastic remarks?

I want them domed not doomed!

I would use the garage

Hi DB

I installed a lot of decals last winter with no problem. I was in a garage and I used a heat gun to WARM the area where the decal was going. 3M has a surface prep product. It looks like a clear magic marker. One of these came with my dash kit and I have used it everywhere i appled anything with an adhesive backing. Nothing has come off.

I did a lot of my decals about this time last year when I bought the AV. I cleaned the application area thoroughly, then used a hair dryer to heat the area then applied the decals with no problems. This was done in my garage (door open no heat) on a 40 degree or so day. The decals are all still on there even after 1 New England winter so I must have done OK! :)

As far as the tailgate decals....why not remove the tailgate and bring it in the house. Let it warm up for several hours before applying and for several more to allow them to set when you are done.

I brought mine inside last year so I could use a paint pen on the lettering. Been about a year and they still look great. :)

Thanks for the info. I'll take the tailgate off. I can't wait til spring.
I've had these 2 weeks already and seeing them just sitting there, besides wife says no more goodies until I get the ones I have on the AV.
