The NHTSA has just published a brochure on trailering. ?It is a basic guide, but is a good introduction to trailering if you haven't done it before, and want a good overview of what you need to consider and do.

Thanks a lot for this very useful post. Sure, I know how to tow and have done so on various occasions, but this brochure had a lot of good information for those of us who have never read or seen this information. Most of us just hook up to a trailer that is within our limits and pull out. Our dads probably taught us how to hook everything up.

This brochure should be included with every tow-ready vehicle.
