Denali style grill inserts?

Has anyone seen grille inserts that look like the center of the factory Denali grill? I'm thinking the "punched hole" look would go good on the WBH grille.

Unfortunately, all of the aftermarket stuff I've seen looks like it has larger holes or different spacing than the Denali. (Look at the stainless steel punch grille pics on http://www.putco.com/punch.shtml, and you'll see what I mean.)

Are these "doctored" photos, and the actual grille may look better?

Anyone seen one of these in person? (Or anything close to the way the center of the Denali grille looks?)

I had the Putco Punch on my 00 GMC x-cab z-71. I opted for the "no emblem cutout" model, and I really think it was the best looking front end I have seen on a GM truck (I liked it as much as the Denali). Easy to install and maintain. The pics on the website look about right. The Denali has a different shape than the standard 99-02 GMC. The holes are smaller on the Denali as well - more like a mesh. I don't think the punch looks as good on the chevy, IMHO. I like the billet bars look because of the split grill.

I see your point. With the GMCs there is more area for the punched insert to cover than with the split Chevy grilles. Maybe I should reconsider the billet style or even mesh if someone makes a quality one.

Either way, there's just something about that gray plastic in the middle of the factory grille that keeps nagging at me. :cautious:

Paint it Black. On my '92 I had the "mesh" of new grille painted after wrecking the front end. Also added the "SS" Bowtie (Black with red stripe around perimeter). What a Difference. The Diff. in the black vs gray mesh was very noticeable.

i have got a street scene grill and it is easy to install and looks great i think

I've got the same grille kuffs has, it's the one in the picture in the upper left...but I'd have to disagree about the ease of install. It's a royal PITA.

Hey, kuffs, where'd you get those speed grilles for the bumper? ???

Ok--I'm being lazy here so I'm going to ask the question. Where can I get a grill like that? I'm a big fan of the Denali.

Ok, I'm starting to really like the mesh grill look, but I have one question. Does it look ok without cutting out the factory grille, or is that mostly a personal preference?

Thanks for the complements guys.

The factory grille stays. It is the main support for the Street Scene grille. There is one or two angles you can see it from, but it can only be seen if you're looking for it.

There are several members with this grille. Powersurge, HOMACK, danlwil, kuffs and myself. (y)

I saw a Denali grill for an Av. on ebay today, the look is not for me- There is not enough real estate to get the same effect especially with the cross bar.

This is more of a Denali Style than mine is. I wasn't going for the Denali look, but most people consider the Denali "Punch" style as a Speed Grille. Most speed grilles are seen on sport trucks and ricers. Since I'm a sport truck guy, it makes since for me to have the Street Scene Speed Grille.

I'm not real sure how this ...

is confused with this...

Punch = Circles

Speed Grille = Diamond cut mesh

I never meant to say yours was like a denali, I like your look, but this denali one :D: I think it is computer generated- how could someone mess up the hole alinements that bad for real?

Ed

I agree that the Punch grille appears to have been computer generated or manipulated. I do computer alteration of graphics and it is my opinion that it's not a real installed grill in most of the pics.

I went with the Street Scene grill. I think it looks great, especially since it's not as common as billet, but it was a H U G E PITA to install. :8: The instructions were shotty. But I love it now.
