Had 16 AV's show up at Fuddrucker's today. Forgive me if I left anyone out. Discrete, Harley AV, Digital_X, FriGuy, Dave02Z66 (plus mini-me), TXAVy, bbtx, languy01, chrisntam, dguernsey, FSUGUY, vetman, kps, wonder91178, and NascarDave. Tagged and talked to a visitor from Oklahoma, he is a visitor to the site but not a member yet and tagged a pewter base when we were leaving. The weather was chilly but the company was warm. Enjoyed meeting all the new faces and new members as well as the old friends.
Pics will be coming soon. Thanks to Steve for bringing his Zaino products out and demonstrating for the crew.
ok I was only able to get a few pics taken, before some started to leave. It was cold and the camera wasnt working properly.

Hey Dave - please send me a quick write up (100 words or less) to story.submit@chevyavalanchefanclub.com so we can get it into CAFCNA Magazine.

I thought it was 18, plus the 2 we tagged in the lot ;D

see the pics: DFW GTG at Plano Fuddruckers

So there I was, heading east on 635. I see a white AV with CAFCNA logos and thought, "hey cool! a white . . ." then a black Z66 follows behing it and I thought " and a black . . . ", then a red one pulls up and I thought, "aw dammit!".

I was the guy with/ goatee in the black Z71 AV you passed by and sah-lute-ed just as I got on the 35 south exit. I really wanted to just jump in line with y'all and head out there, but today was the only day for a while that my business partner and I had time to install the four VA Linux servers I was hauling.

Stupid work. :8:

*sigh* maybe next time . . . :6:

Had a great time and now running with amber DRLs! Is MexicanMenace our version of 'Byron'? LOL

Just kidding!! ;)

Had a great time and yes I DID get ANOTHER burger!

Hey all,

Just wanted to drop a quickie to say that we had a good time up until that dreaded phonecall and had to leave early. Great idea getting the Zaino rep there btw, I'll probably be giving him a call.

To keep those up to speed who weren't there or who I didn't get to say goodbye to, my wife got a call on the cell that her Step-Dad had just passed away (massive heart attack) and her mom wasn't in very good shape. Unfortunately she's back in Michigan and my wife can't fly right now (3rd Trimester) so things were a bit rough. Since we can't go, we're buying a plane ticket for my wife's brother to head home from Reno. He can get the time off work, but couldn't afford to go otherwise. Thank goodness for Northwest Bereavement Travel offers, or we couldn't afford to send him on such short notice either.

Aaron, I was sorry to hear about you wifes loss. I know how hard a sudden loss can be. Too bad she will not be able to fly, but it is good that her brother will be able to.
God speed, and see you the next go around.

TxAvy, glad you were able to make the GTG and sorry to hear of you wife's loss. It wasn't too long ago (Aug '02)that I lost my father. Our prayers go out to your family.

Yes it is snowing here in Texas. Got up at 6 am this morning to let the dog out and it was sleeting. Has been snowing for 6 hours now.
Glad we had this GTG yesterday!

There can be only one "Byron". All others are poor imitations. >:D

So sorry to hear of your family's loss TxAv.

Enjoyed the get together all. Thanks for all the arranging and drawings Dave. Appreciated Zaino demo also.

Really Wonder, seconds? I thought about how good a Fuddruckers would be today.

Hope to see you all again in the future.

I enjoyed meeting the ones I got to talk to yesterday. I wish we could had stayed longer but we had to pick up the kids. I bought a bunch of stuff from Steve so when ever the weather clears up I'll be busy.

bbtx, I really liked the flames. I have been trying to decide between pinstripe flames like on the Harley Fords or blue flames painted on the front end. Do you mind sending me the contact info for the person that did yours so I can call and get an idea what it may cost?

TxAV....my prayers are with your family.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Maybe one of these days I can hook up with a local club at a GTG.

HaleyAv or others interested in my flamer, he is Ricky Roach at Roach Collision in Mt. Pleasant, TX. Best time to catch him is around 10 AM, but wife Melissa can answer lots of questionsand she is in around 8:30 am. Ricky comes into shop mid-morning but may work into the weeeee hours. Melissa does not check e-messages to often but phone is 903-572-7221 (fax 903-572-7795). Ricky's flames have won their share of awards, yet I think he is better than he knows. To give you an idea of cost, front end flames usually start around $1500 and that's a pretty fancy front end. Be sure and mention that you saw my AV. If I can give you any other info just let me know. If any of you are bikers, Harleys (or other bikes) metal is Ricky's real thing. bb

Thanks for the info bbtx. He may be a little far from me to use though. I may have to find someone closer to me. I know there are several bike painters around here. I talked to bunches of them before I decide on one to do my bike. Then I ended up using one fron NJ. He was just here for the summer doing some paint jobs. I will have to give some of them a call and see which ones are the best with flames. I didn't do flames on my bike so I didn't research that then.

I really like how the faux over-wheel cladding came out, its textured and is a much closer color match than the camera captured!

Thought I would stop in and say Hi to everyone before the Monday grind started.

Had fun meeting everyone at the get other and hopefully if everything goes right we will be able to make the cruise this weekend.

For anyone interested I talked with Steve (Zaino) while he was there and he is checking into a performance brake upgrade for my AV through one of his contacts. When I have the details I will post them. I have known Steve for almost 2 years (about as long as I have been using Zaino) so his recommendations should be right on the money

Everyone have a good week
