DIC settings for unlocking

Greetings,

First post in this very active thread.
Recently bought a 2003 Z-66 AV and so far so good, which is saying alot as I am a lifelong Ford man...

I don't get the settings for the Unlocking/Locking. I cannot seem to get it to not honk when I unlock the vehicle. If I turn off the notifications on the locking, then it will stop on the unlocking as well, but thats not what I want. I want horn/lights on lock and NOTHING! on unlock... Have tried several combinations and nothing works. Called dealer and they investigated and said, yeppers, that's how it's suppose to work! Then why the individual settings? I think they are idiots...!

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Club.
You are now part of the most resorcefull people on the planet. If there is a way to achieve the desired mod, you can find it here. And even if GM didn't intend it to do this, just give it time and someone will find a way. I am sorry that I don't have the answer for you. I own an '02. Don't give up!

Welcome to the club. I know what your talking about.....

I currently have the the lights active for the lock and unlock (drivers)...but the horn go off on the passenger unlock... I haven't been able to change this...( unlock passenger, no horn )....
I can have the horn active on the door lock, but this is not what I want.... So to me it sounds like the module needs to be reprogrammed... not sure which one it is.... possibly the BCM.....
Only problem with this, is that there was a spill from Motorola... some of the chips that are used only have a 1 time flash..... suppose to be reflashable.... so depending on when your 03 was built it may or may not be able to be reprogrammed.... Not good news........
I am still debating if I want to let the dealer attempt a reprogram of the BCM to add the ZW9 option feature to the BCM module so that I can complete one of my mods!

BCM, DDM, PDM and any other modules in the AV......

Kharless- welcome to the CAFCNA club! You will find almost ever question you can think of on this site and in these threads. First, I have programmed my Z71 03 a dozen times and it still honks twice when I unlock the Av. Originally mine was horn/lights on lock and silence on unlock. I was following those guidelines in the manual and now I get 2 honks when I unlock. Look in the manual again or just keep playing because since mine was originally like you desire it has to be an option. This weekedn I will be reprogramming it again and will write it down so if I get your desired combo I will post it here [although I expect someone else will upsatge me first] which is the beauty of this club. Your life will never be the same now that you have found this site and if you catch the mod bug- heaven help you as it is incurable. Welcom again.
