Did any 02's come with a CD changer???

NOPE...not an option......people bought add ons and mounted in different locations....

Please refere to existing threads....

The Denali and Escalade were the only ones that came with a Changer. You can add a Factory style changer to the factory system. It'll be controlled through the factory HU just like it would if it came from the factory with the changer.

Changer Look at the bottom of the page on the right.

Actually, thats depending on when you ordered your 02'. I had mine built to order back in Jun '02 (actually placed the order in Jan)and it was an option, but it only came with the Bose speaker deal and if you had a sunroof then you couldn't get that option.

At least that was my experience.

HUH.....there was no bose speakers for 2002.......Even in the literature and early website days.....nothing about this.....or a cd changer....and I bought mine in SEPT 2001......do you have a copy of the build sheet?

Yeah, the only Bose that I ever heard of was in the Denali/Escalade. Boy you know that would have pissed a lot of people off if the option was available late in the year and no one knew about it.

I don't have the build sheet with it on there because I have the sunroof. I remember it being an option though, when I sat down with the gentleman to order the options I wanted because that was one I initially told him I wanted. He then explained to me that he figured it was because of the way they did the wiring in the Av. When you went to do the options, if you chose a sunroof you couldnt get the sound package. It was in the advert's though. 6 Disk CD changer and bose surround.

Sounds like you have a 2003 model......not a 2002.....as what you state above is what was the case for those purchasing 2003 models........

How could I have an 03 model when I put in the purchase order in Jan '02 and picked her up in June when I got back to the states?

On 2003's, you could get the Bose and 6 disc HU with the sunroof.

I dunno but what you describe is what is in 2003 not 2002 aqs they changed all the electronics in 2003....new cluster new radio new AC/heat control etc etc.....

Maybe you have a pic?

No, I dont have a picture. I was stationed in Italy at the time and I am now in Hawaii. I am pretty sure I said earlier, that I have the sunroof on my Av. Ergo, since mine is an '02 I could not have both. Stiamo parlando la stessa lingua qui? ;)

My solution to the CD changer problem. http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=9080;start=8. It is the 6 CD changer from the Denali/Escalade, and controlled from the radio. Press the radio CD button to play the radio CD, press the radio CD button again to play the 6 CD changer, press the number 5 button on the radio to go to the next CD in the changer. With the rear audio controls I also added the rear seat can play the CD or radio that the front seat isn't playing. I have three kids CDs in slots 1-3 so the kids can listen to their music while I listen to the radio CD up front.

Looks nice. (y)

I faced the same situation, and I was also considering a CD changer for my 2002. Instead, I went with this: http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=8965;start=msg127636#msg127636

The blue display sitting on top of the console is the remote satellite display/control unit to the hard disk based MP3 player. I have a 40 GB unit, and I now have about 250 complete CDs on it, and it is only half full. If that isn't enough, it will support up to a 250 GB drive. That's a lot of CDs!

Puts a 6 disk changer to shame. >:D
