Did We Talk You Into Buying An Avalanche?

No one has post here lately, well did we ???

yes / no / sorta -- after waffling for months av forum helped push me over the edge into an 08. Bank account's not really pleased, but I sure am.

my friend has the 03 av, it's a great ride and i always was a fan of the "change for a buck" suv/truck? :D
in any case, this site is definatly getting me educated about it, but not much convincing needed - just justifing getting it? ;D

How about this:
  • Up to 6 ADULTS seated
  • Carry FULL SHEETS of Plywood in a LOCKED AND WEATHER PROTECTED area
  • Tow OVER 8000 lbs!
  • FITS IN GARAGE!
  • Protects FAMILY IN CRASH - Lots of thread here with wrecked AVs and every one walked away!
  • HIGH Residual Value!
  • And Lastly - US!

Need more justification?

i was busting out when i saw this one, thanks - my day will be all smiles now!!!

Was I influenced at all by this site?? Are you kidding??? Absolutely!!!

After a fairly arduous search for a more civilized and versatile replacement for my 3500 dually, my Wife spotted an Avalanche and asked a seemingly innocent question. ? "How about those"? I partially discounted her suggestion, but not completely. ? I told her I'd check them out. ? That is how I came to find your site. ?

After seeing just how passionate Avalanche owners are and reading hours and hours of content on this forum, I was sold. ? That is when my search really began. ? After looking high and low I was finally able to negotiate a deal and drive my new (2003) toy home yesterday.

My Wife and kids couldn't be happier!

Thanks to all who have shared their experiences and roped-in another unsuspecting soul. . . ;)

Regards,

Erik

congratulations on the new av Drslmr
when you get a chance take a look in your local section, you have a really nice group of folks in Utah that are starting to get very active

also you might want to start thinking about making plans to attend Wild West 08,
it looks like it's shaping up to be a great get together

I appreciate the greeting as well as the heads-up on the local Utah club - I look forward to meeting some enthusiasts and learning more about these cool trucks.

Thanks again -
Erik

Well havn't bought one yet, but by no means will I be talked into buying it, really intrested and now looking to buy and doing my homework. And either way I go, its gotta be  :B:. But love the forum and the input from everyone. And can not wait to get one of my own so I can starting playing around and helping others with their problems.

You've been here a year and a half and still no AV, go ahead and pull the trigger. >:D

Trust me I want too, first joined when I was in Iraq (was going to buy when I got back) and got back from there got the good news that I was going to Africa (where I am now) so if the AV I am looking at now works out i'll pull the trigger soon!!! fingers crossed.

Can't wait to see it, what type are you going to get ???

I found a NF that I really like and hoping it'll still be for sale when I get back. There is a few other that catch my eye, but most of them have a lot of miles...they say mostly "highway miles" but in Cali, highway 1/2 the time is just as bad as city. Found a couple in Mich. too, but not worth putting the miles or taking the time to drive out to cali (org. from there). So keep your eye out because as soon as I get it I'll try to get some pics up!

I was on the fence trying to decide what type of all around vehicle to trade my conversion van in on.  In doing my homework I stumbled across a 05 Avalanche z71 that was a executive driven vehicle.  It was loaded, I thought the van had a lot of bells and whistles but it can't campare with the Avalanche.  This site really helped me with my decision along with searching on-line.  We picked up the new Av yesterday and LOVE it, it is just too cool and unbelievably versatile.  So, thanks to everyone who added their 2 cents in.
I did talk to a local fellow who has an 02 Av (which he says is the best vehicle he has ever owned) and he mentioned that he had a "chip" installed and he gets outstanding mileage and performance.
What kind of a chip is he referring to?
Do they really work?
Are they safe to use?
Who makes them?
Thanks again all....

you could always forgo the chip and drop a new mortgage on a new motor, a couple of HUGE turbos, transmission, rear end, transfer case, drive shafts, exhaust...and enjoy all the things that modifying an Avalanche brings.

Welcome to the club...I hope youo have deep pockets. :welcome:

welcome to the club Coyote1
not sure about a chip, maybe he's referring to a hand held programmer such as Superchips
another manufacturer would be Diablosport
