Difference in 2500 horsepower

Am driving an 02 Avalanche 2500...It came rated at 340 horse and I love it......Now I am thinking it may be time to trade...maybe an 05......but why would they go down on horsepower??It would be so easy for the factory to tweak this monster engine and get 400.

Anyway the 05 is supposed to have the touch screen gps radio and thats my main interest.....however I wonder if that 20hp drop since 02 is even noticeable?

I think the lower Hp is due to emissions stuff....I read it somewhere....I think on here somwhere.....maybe....I do not remember where I read it....

I doubt if there's much difference, maybe just a numbers game or a minor programming tweak..

'Get a stylus for that screen; or have fun with the fingerprint cleaning!
I also heard rumors about voice commands but if it's anything like OnStar, you'll be driving in circles..

I believe the Horsepower Drop is Due to Stiffer Emmissions. Like YGMN I saw it on here somewhere as well.

And there have been a few Stealth Bumpers. Look for Fbueler as a Member. He has one.
