DirectHits - any long term problems???

Hi Guys,

I finally broke down and ordered the AV DirectHits kit for my 1500. Have read through a few posts on how the DirtectHits product caused problems. Am now debating on whether or not to return them - just a bit wary here. Any recommendation?? Anyone?

Can we do a survey Mr. Moderator?? Not sure if one has been done. Maybe statistically the center of the bell curve is really steep or maybe we get a camel back of sorts - which hump is bigger??

That sort of thing.

Any help would appreciated. I have about 2.5 weeks before I go away for 2.5 months and anticipate getting the kit and getting installed prior to my travels so the return policy wont allow for returning the kit when I return.

Thanks!

Honestly, I have run the Direct hits and also switched them out for the MSD wires and NGK iridium plugs. You will get a smooth running engine either way. Both are better than stock with regard to idle. I prefer the MSD wires and NGK iridium plugs - they cost about half as much as the direct hits. Plus the wires are red and look really cool under the hood.

I had a lot of stereo feedback with mine. I didn't really notice too much of a difference with them in. I took mine out because I had to take my truck in for an engine realted issue and didn't want them blaming the issue on the DirectHits. If anyone wants a set mine are collecting dust in my closet.

Had to remove mine. no room for them with headers and SC

Gee - I wish I had enough $$$ to have that problem. Like would be great if I could outrun a Porshe at the lights. ;)

Just making a joke. (y)

Thanks for the response.

[raising hand] Uh, are you giving them away :-[ ??? ;D

(I know, I'm cheap)

BTW, are you all getting slammed with winter there in Charlotte today? Looked that way on the weather channel :cautious:

Serious. There is nothing wrong with them. I bought the RED MSD wires and thought I could use them with the direct hits capacitors, but that isn't possible because of the added length on two plugs. I really like the red wires and want to put on the red hoses for sale by SMIG. So I will let the direct hits go for the $75.00.

PM me if you are really interested.

Yes we are getting hammered. I just got home from work and I live 3 miles away, I left a 12 and its 2 now. I did my good deeds for the day I pulled a couple stranded cars out of ditches. I was amazed the AV could pull so hard. Put her in 4Lo and she yanked this Jag out of the ditch in no time.

Unfortunately I'm not giving them away. But I'd sell them for cheap.

Apparently you could likely get $75 in no time! Just trying to flush out a price from you ;). I'm being cheap right now b/c of building a new house ;D

Does anyone still have a set of DirectHits that they want to get rid of? I?m interested in trying them. I want to put them on my quad and jet ski.

Thank you
