does anybody use their auto 4wd?

I used mine driving home from work nights in winter if the roads looked wet or anytime it rained hard for 15 years. Five mile drive so wasn't worried about mpg, better safe than sorry.

With from street lights/headlights you can't tell wet from black ice in the dark, hard to tell in daylight too at times.

Auto - snow covered plowed roads
4HI - unplowed roads over 4 inches.
4Lo - never use. guess if I need to pull another vehicle.

Very good philosophy that will help keep front wheel driveline wear to a minimum.

That works, I rarely used 4HI except to play in deep snow or on dirt roads.

4LO mainly to insure it still engaged properly and that I remembered how to disengage it.

I use occasionally, but is really nice when the wife has taken it and the roads are not not the best.  This way I just turn it to "Auto" and I don't have to worry about it.  No questions from her asking how or when. Its already done just drive.  (y)
