Does anyone have a prefered fuel filter or is GM's okay?

I tend to use GM on those. have on everything thus far for many years, no problems.

I'll second what DougD said:

Although, I have not used any 'aftermarket' fuel filters, I have had zero problems with the GM/Delco filters for late model fuel injected GM vehicles. And at $8-9 per filter, I just can't see going aftermarket on 'em.

Cheers...

Just me thinking and talking...

I changed my oil and fuel filter in other cars and trucks I have owned.

gone to other places to get it done when I was on the road.

But when I got my Avalanche it has been the dealer the whole time.
for everything.

I just like my dealer I think but hey it is not that bad on the cost and I have it back with in a few hours..

so I would stay with the GM stuff..

Any of the name brand units will work fine. They are all considered equal from a warranty standpoint. Personally I use the AC or Wix. I change a lot of filters (over 100 a year) and we use Wix exclusively

There have been some folks that actually took oil filters apart and compared construction, filter medias, bypass capabilities and the AC-Delco oil filter was rated very good. They did NOT reccommend Fram very well.

The web site to this oil filter comparison was from a Mopar guy that did the tests. Anyone still have the site to view here????
