Does GM still make brand new 4L70-E transmission?

My transmission went out a few weeks ago luckily the dealership is going to cover the repair. I bought the truck at a Ford dealership and they tell me that auto trans is back ordered for two weeks if not longer. They said they are going to put a brand new transmission in Avy but I was just thinking would GM even have a new automatic 4 speed on the shelf. How long has it been since GM manufactured a new 4 speed auto trans. I will probably try and call a Chevy dealership and see what they say but just thought this is strange. I am glad it was under warranty but I have been waiting 2 1/2 weeks to get Avy back.

I bought a brand new AWD transfer case for my 2004 EXT last summer from the local Chevrolet dealership parts department.

Anything is possible, I suppose.
