Does your AV change into a Suburban?

Of all the people that approach me to see the AV ?change? most of them think that it changes to allow for a third row seat, similar to a Suburban! Anybody else getting this on a regular basis, or even at all?

Thats what I'd think. Granted I've only had 6-7 people approach me but at least 3-4 of them get this hair brained idea some how.

No, but a couple (by couple I mean 2) of people have thought that the truck-to-SUV transformation somehow involves enclosing the top of the truck bed so that it 'looks' like an SUV and not a truck at all ??? Maybe they have seen an Av with a snug top, then they see one without and think that is part of the SUV-to-pickup transformation ???

I have had the same problem here I get alot of people asking me to change it to an SUV I tell them it is an SUV right now they look at me wierd and say huh I though it would look like a suburban

Not in quite a while, but 1-1/2 years ago, I had several people ask about it and clearly several thought the AV would 'transform' into something like a Suburban.

Nope never had anyone ask me that before.... But it would be awful hard not to break out in laughter.

People in my area aren't so friendly I guess b/c I've only had two strangers comment about the Av at a gas station and there were no inquiries about the change ??? Oh well.

Yup - I thought I was the only one that this happened to. And people are clearly disappointed that it doesn't transform into an SUV. Like duhhh! I guess it's because of the wording in the Av commercials and the standard definition of an SUV looking like a Suburban.

Isn't there a new GMC Envoy XUV that fits this description better?

I've had a lot of people ask me.
But they say "is that the truck that changes?"
I enjoy telling them about it.
I even convinced a guy that he needed an AV instead of a Suburban ;D

I got that question from some folks at church. For some, that third row of seats is very important I guess. I suppose that's why I drive the AV and the wife drives a Suburban! For us to change it's simply a matter of choosing which one to drive! (I much prefer driving my 03 Z66 to the wife's 99 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban.)

Have not had anyone expect the Av to transform into a Surburban - but I have had one dude expect to see it transform into a regular pickup truck (steel bed). I told him it won't because all of the steel beds made these days are too small to fit, and he believed me.

You better watch out driving those two gas hogs! The enviro-nazis will be after you! ;D They're all over Arnold Schwarzenegger because he says he's and environmentalist but he drives an H2.

Adding a third row of seats?? Has any one tried this mod yet? ??? ??? ???

Seems to me like some of the mod-a-holics in this organization would have tried this by now!!!

Never had antone ask me that either. I have a snug top and I've had people say it looks like a Suburban or a Space ship. One person told me my Avalanche looks like a mean horse.

By the way...Tincup.....have you ever been to TinCup, Colorado?

The advantage here is that it DOES look like a truck. When I take it in for a hand wash they charge be for a truck, not a SUV! $12 for a truck clean-up $16 for a SUV clean-up.

Had many people, mostly from work ask me how it changes.
The one that sticks out for me is the guy at the gas station who ask, "So how do you change that thing by pushing a button or something?" :E:

I told him no this is not the Jetsons and all the changes are done manually.

It has to be the water!

As a matter of fact, yes, I have been to Tincup CO. The center image in my signature is of Tincup. Also, climbed Tincup pass in the Av, (the image on the left is my Av at the top of the pass). I've visited the town on several occasions. It's always been in mid October, when the town is boarded up for the season.

Someday, when I'm rich and famous, I'm moving to Tincup, buying a cabin, and spending the rest of my days exploring the town, along with Taylor Park and all the surrounding areas, photographing and writing. That day can't come soon enough, though.

I had a co-worker ask how to enclose the back...so I guess that's similar to a Suburban conversion....I looked at him funny.

I did have a friend say "well it looks like a truck now, I have never see it look like an SUV" can you show me? Kinda looked at her funny and said "it always looks like this." So then I explained the mid gate thing and showed her how it works. I guess she does not watch TV comercials or something.

People that may have just glanced at the Envoy XUV ad on TV might be getting that confused with the AV. That might explain the "change to Suburban" thing. :0:
