OK, I've heard of Divx and some other media that is used to do this, but I have absolutely no idea how to start.  I am about to guy out and buy a 2 gb memory stik what would be needed to download from computer to stik and what is the best format, etc to use?  My flip down dvd from Directed has a section that accepts memory sticks so wanted to cram as many movies in there for my trip to Mexico in June for the kids.  Constantly taking out dvd's , etc gets old and with this would only have to push a button to go to the next movie.  Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

Umm.....a DVD is up to 9GB in capacity, you're not going to get much in the way of video entertainment on 2GB of a memory stick, even with high compression.

I agree. Even using something like DVD Shrink will not sqeeze a movie down enough to fit on a 2GB stick. You would be better to use an external hard drive that connects with USB, but I'm not sure how well it would stream a movie through USB. I haven't tried this yet!

ummm, you can convert a DVD movie to fit onto a 1gb sd card...plenty of tools out there for this..DVDShrink is one off the top of my head...basically you cut out all of the extra stuff, other languages, previews all of that but the movie.

And using that logic, 4-9 movies on a single DVD vs. 2 on a memory stick.  Again, as I stated, not much video entrertainment.

You are correct. I'm just not sure what type of quality you get, but I guess it doesn't have to perfect in the truck. In any case you won't get much on a 2GB stick.
