Dual Battery Setups?

I know this is an older thread...but wondering how you can tell by looking what size alternator you have?
My 2003 was bought used, it however did have a second battery hooked up, I just dont know if they changed the alternator or not.
Got any model or part numbers listed or stamped directly on the alternator?

I will have to look. But that is a good point if I can find that I should be able to search it out.

If the sticker with the part number is still on the back of the alternator you should be able to put the part number in Google to look it up.

It doesn't really matter what type of alternator you use for the dual battery hook-up. Stock amperage and higher will work.

I used two Duralast Platinum batteries and the KeyLine battery isolator. Now I use the aux battery for a 60 amp feed to the bed for lighting and inverter. Hardest part was modifying the fender brace on my 2005.

I have a 2007 Av, w/5.3L engine. I would like to add a second battery; I have a size 27 deep cycle battery I’d like to use, if it will fit. Not sure what to use for a hold-down clamp. What size battery did you use?

I've had good luck with the Duralast batteries. I used Duralast Golds size 78 with the standard GM hold down block.
