has anyone tried it? i saw a thread about it. i think. i can't seem to find it now. it was a good price. free, with mail-in rebate. not to mention it dries clear. this is a must for keeping the cladding chalk free.

Not much word yet.....some of my friendly autopians have discussed it...and well.....not much of a discussion yet.....

but like I always say....help the economy ..buy it...and try it....hehehe

i would like to correct a statement i made in my previous post. the box states "... eliminates white powdery residue". i took that to mean that it dried clear after application. they may mean it does not leave that white dust crap on the paint after you rub it off. not sure just yet. i will let you know as soon as i use it.
i have use a wax that dries clear. it was cool. i did not have to worry about getting it on the cladding. as careful as i was i still touched the cladding periodically. since the wax dried clear it was not a problem. i even put some on the cladding to test it on a stain. it looked fine after removal. no residue. wax was called Super Glaze.

I tried this stuff on my wife's Accord right before we sold it. I'm not sure if I like it or not. :cautious:

Application was easy and initial hand buffing was okay. Still didn't bring out a gloss that I was expecting. I tried an orbital buffer as well, but that just made swirl marks on it (yes, it was a brand new buffing pad on it). For those that are just looking to do a quick wax job by hand, I'd say it's a good buy. But for those really looking for a high quality gloss and want to put the effort into it... keep looking.

As for the "clear" issue... it doesn't dry clear. It dries like every other wax I've used. But, the hand buffing is easy and there isn't any of the white dust or roller-bead things that you get from a lot of waxes.

Best applicator I found was the one included with the bottle and then use a microfiber towel to buff and shine.

No idea how hard it would be to get the stuff off of cladding (still got factory wax on my Av, so it'll be a while before I'm ready to find out). It did come off the plastics on my wife's Accord real easy (headlight covers, plasti-chrome trim, plastic bumpers, etc.), but they aren't textured like the Av cladding.

thanx for the update. i was mistaken about the drying clear thing. you just reassured me about that. i read the box again, and suddenly it became clear to me that i had misunderstood what it was saying.
i am still willing to give it a try. i like the pump bottle. also the fact that it comes with an applicator and microfiber towel. i will let you all know my experience with it as well.

I'd recommend getting another microfibre towel before starting. I was on my last piece of the included towel on the Accord and the Av will probably take a bit more.

Our local Autozone (or whatever they're called now) has three packs for $3. Good deal considering that I use them for everything. :)

finally used the nanowax today. it works just fine. went on easy. came off easy. it does not dry real white either. this is good just in case you get it on the cladding, or in crevices of the truck. the shine looks good to. took the few swirl marks out that i had. the pump bottle works great. no wasted wax. no messy can with hard to remove top. the applicator and micro-fiber worked awesome too. :B: (y)

update on the nanowax. after i rinsed off the AV yesterday i noticed something. the water beaded up on the hood more than usual. then as i began to wipe off the hood i noticed the towel glided across it. wow!! very smooth. same for the fenders. not so for the rest of the truck. i only did the hood and fenders. :6: now i have to get the rest done before hitting the road to Texas. it does seem to be pretty good at the moment.

while in Atlanta i made a trip to the local Advance Auto. one of the employee's was commenting on how good this new wax was. he made his way down the aisle to grab it so the other employee could see what he was talking about. low and behold it was the Eagle One NanoWax.

Made a trip today to the auto zone. They did not have the Nanowax. I was so pissed they didn't have it I bought Pilots #362 fog lights with external leds that change colors. Man, I hate when the item I'm looking for is not in stock!

Fireeater

I know where you are coming from Fireeater! :C: I spend too much money every day on stuff I never intended to buy. But all is good if it makes the AV better for the eyes to look at (y)

Punisher....thanks for the details on the wax. It sounds like it is a pretty good product. I will give it a shot.

Take Care

i like it. not sure if it has what everyone looks for in a wax. it was enough to make me happy. maybe i am not hard to please. ;)

I have used it a few times and have been very pleased with the results. It seems to fill all the fine scratches in the clear coat. Black Av owners will surely be impressed........for only ten bucks! ;)

Haven't tried the nano wax yet but I have been using Eagle 1 detailing wax which is really quick and easy to apply. (Just squirt on finish and smear it around a little, then buff it off . ) I use old cotton t-shirts. It only takes about a half hour to do the whole truck. Also it doesn't mess up the cladding if some gets on it. Herb

I beleive they are different...NXT is a polymer...where as the NANO wax is traditional....I think.....FOr more info on these products...

visit this forum:

they have more detailing info then any place I know....and the members are outstanding for helping....

I saw the NanoWax when I was in buying mf towels, TireShine, and Meguire's Fire Spray. I thought about getting it, but then I have about 1/3 of my Meguire's Cleaner wax still to go, so I didn't get it. Would this be a suitable replacement for the Cleaner Wax? Because it's a bit of a pain in the @ss. It takes me probably an hour or more to wax the whole truck.

Cleaner wax is different...

Cleaner wax is intended to be used once or twice a year to clean the paint of any oxidized paint...and deep dirt.....it is not intende to provide any real protection.....nor shine

nano wax is just a wax...shich provides shine and limited protection

Wow! Glad I mentioned it. So I should be following this up with a protective wax? You mention that Nano has limited protection. What would give me a good 2.5 - 3 months of protection?

Can't find Zaino at any retailers. At this point I'm using mostly Meguire's stuff, but I'm not married to it.

i would say yes. i have the cleaner wax as well. not mention a slew of others. the Cleaner Wax is a pain to get off sometimes. if you need to clean the paint surface i would tell you to use Mequiar's Deep Crystal cleaning system. it is comprised of three bottles. a cleaner, wax, and polish. you can use just the cleaner when neccesary. then put the NanoWax over it.

i agree.

OK, just because I'm a detailing idiot, here is what I have done so far:

1. Dawn wash
2. Tire Shined cladding
3. Applied Cleaner wax
4. That's it

So basically right now, since I did the Dawn wash, I'm driving around in the FL sun with no protective coat except the clearcoat? At this point is it sufficient to dust off the paint surface and apply the a Nano-type wax/polish or is another wash in order since I used the cleaner wax?
