Wow...I just cleaned the inside of my Avalanche from the long winter of Michigan. I was amazed at the easiness of vaccuming, wiping down the interior and the cleaning of the rubber mats. I have owned many cars and have never found such an easy vehicle to clean. Those rubber mats look great even after a winter of salt and grime! This wasn't my overall spring cleaning...I need to send it out to get detailed...but does it feel great to have most of the crappy salt gone!

Just shows once again that the Av is a well thought out vehicle - great mats, cladding to prevent door dings - are just a couple of things that help make maintenance easier!

Today our weather cooperated a little and was able to get some deep cleaning done. I was as amazed, as you were, as to how easy it was to get the interior cleaned. Tomorrow our weather will turn cold again with possible flurries etc. I was hoping to get the vehicled clayed and Zainoed but it seems it is not going to happen

Nikon4, I'm not sure where you are but here in Central Texas it was 80 today.

I clayed and Zainoed the blue Av and my wife's Explorer. Extremely pleased with the results; however, I left arm is now 4 inches longer than my right arm after 3 coats each with Z-6 in between!!!!!!!

You got that right. After claying the Av and the wifes Monte, then putting 4 coats on mine and 2 on hers I think I could do 100 pull-ups and 50 one arm push-upswith my right arm. It may go on easy but nothing is easy when you put multiple coats on. I wish my kid would grow up a little faster. Right now he's only good for washing the cover and spraying the water.

But damn don't they look good when your done ;D

;D ;D funny, i just got to cleaning the Av today and i was thinking the samething. of all of the cars i have owned, the Av gets double thumbs up in the cleaning dept. from me!! ;D ;D

I haven't had the chance to give it a good cleaning in the cargo area just yet...a little to cold for that....I want to take the rubber mat out and see what is going on under there......wax it etc.....hopefully it warms up soon....

I took my mat out last fall for a quick power spray at the local do it yourself wash. It's painted sheet metal under there. A lot like a regular pickup. Anyway, the mat comes out easy, just be carefull to get the front of the mat back under the plastic drain molding at the bottom of the midgate. It was easier for me to do it after the wash from the inside of the cab with the midgate down...

I too am very pleased with how easy the interior of the Avalanche cleans up (I'm starting to regret my Indigo Blue choice on color however). The carpet is very dense, traps dirt, but gives it up easily when you vacuum. The inside wipes down very nicely. On Saturday we broke 60 degrees so I had my eight-year old pull the hard covers off (that should say something on how easy it is too do) and I took out the bed mat and he wiped down. Very, very easy to clean. He helped get it lined up at the midgate, but I would agree if you're solo it would be easier to do with the midgate down.

I love having a truck that I can take up to the muck at Stevens Pass, drag in a bunch of slush and yeck into the cab, and spend less than 15 minutes getting it cleaned out. Also like the heavy black just throw them in the utility sink in warm water and let them soak floor mats!

I didnt go into the back bed to try and clean anything up back there...but I don't hual anyting anyway...Those mats were extremely easy to clean. I also placed them in the utility tub. I used really hot water and Lysol all purpose cleaner. I was amazed how the mats look new again after the salt that sat on them all winter long.

Cleaning the AV is easy. The interior is a breeze and probably the easiest of any vehicle I have owned!!!

The exterior takes some practice to get a regime down pat but it is easy now!

Cleaning under the hood is a PIA since I have to get a step stool to reach everything!

Has anyone ever used those Armoral leather cleaning wipes before?...I seen them at the car wash today and wondered if they were any good.....

If not has anyone treated their leather yet? If so with what?

In the "ease of cleaning per square inch" category, the Av is the hands down
winner...
OK, you guys are crazy !!! ;)

MAYBE, just cleaning the AV peripherally is easy, but not if you detail it !!!

I just spent four hours cleaning, waxing, and 303ing my white AV. That's just the OUTSIDE and inside the Bed !!!

I STILL need to vacuum and 303 the inside, clean the glass, and then clean and leather-treat the seats.

That's about two more hours.

So SIX hours to completely DETAIL it, that's not my def of EASY !!! ;D

Laterz..........

It is easy but time consuming! ;D

I spend about 2-3 hrs to wash and protect the cladding on my truck. I only wax about once every other month now that I have a few layers of Z on.

This past weekend, Indianapolis was graced with some great weather. So I gathered my Zaino stuff and went at it... 3.5 hours later and I was still at it and had yet to take care of the bed's interior and the roof... Man!

However, given I had the interior, underside, cladding, engine bay and wheels taken care of I was not in too bad a shape. One hour later, I had the rest of it done... then the inevitable--Got down to the local crising spot and ran into the only water puddle around (only parking left). Thank goodnes I had some quick detailer.

The truck looks good! ;D Though I still have another 2 coats of Zaino to put on... hmmm that might put me at about 11 hours or better (if I don't have to wash it again) to get the whole truck cleaned and detailed... which is about 2 hours more then it takes me to do my Impala SS... but then the Impala (100,000 mile daily driver show car wanna be) is barely driven any more and the AV (a daily driver) had just gone through two days of major downpours.

My 2 cents worth? Not a bad vehicle to get cleaned but quite a bear to get fully detailed (lots of nooks and crannys). :cautious:
