Electrical chirp in cab

Just picked up this 05 av and had some problems that were very common but occasionally I get an intermittent electrical chirp that doesn't see to relate to anything. It will start while just driving, no bumps or turning to make it start and sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. Upon stopping it will chirp and the releasing the brake will chirp then when shutting off the ignition there's 2-3 little chirps. It's below the drivers dash area. I've heard it's possible a interrupter for the in but have done tons of searching and can't find anything. Any help is appreciated

Can you give us a little better description of the noise.

I wonder if this sound is the one discussed in this thread?

Thanks for the replies. The noise is very hard to say when it happens since it is completely random. It is like an alarm chirp and I always get it when shutting off the ignition when it does do it. I did notice that it is coming from the column area. I will try a get a video next time it happens. Once again I really appreciate the help

ANy aftermarket radio, NAV, alarm, remote start, etc?

Not that I have noticed but I haven't pulled the underside to look at yet. I have sometime here shortly to look. Just drove hm and no chirp. This is by far the oddest thing I've come across as a tech

I'll offer a real odd possibility--Cell Phone interference.

Back when I had my 94 Chevy S10, I had an occasional and random "chirp" that came from the stereo speakers. Just occasional enough to be annoying, but randomness seemed to almost have a pattern. It would almost always occur in certain areas of my commute. Don't remember why, but one day I did not have my cell phone with me, and noticed that I did not hear the chirp. Next day the chirp was back. Then I realized that when I got in the truck, I would always put my cell phone in the little cubby directly to the right of the stereo head unit. Out of curiosity, I started paying attention to where I put my phone when I got in. Lo and behold, If I kept my phone in my pocket or on the door, no chirpping. If I stored my phone in that cubby, the chirpping would happen, and most likely was happening in the areas where the phone was transferring/seeking a new cell tower.

Just a thought.

No nav. Basic stereo no remote start or aftermarket add on that I can see. I'd have a video but can't seem to figure out how to attach it. Thank dale fan I'll check that out.

I have the same problem, also with an 05 Z71. No aftermarket anything - has the original 5-disc CD player/radio and original alarm that came with the truck. Mine started the same way neavalanche's did: several chirps together happened randomly when I turned the truck off. Just recently though, I've been getting single chirps while driving.

I'll pay attention to my cell phone, but my chirp doesn't seem to have any pattern. I've driven the route where I heard the single chirps many, many times without it acting up.
