Sorry I'm a new member and couldn't figure out how to get to other things. Was there ever any definitive answer to the electrical problems in the Avalanches? I acquired this Avalanche from my father-in-law after his passing. I have had incidents while stepping on the brakes and also using the turn signals the others have described such as gauges going haywire, doors locking and unlocking repeatedly. He had a brand new alternator put on and also a brand new battery but his problems also continued. I also have problems with my radio which I did not see other people saying. The speakers will work but they have a very high-pitched tinny sound. I have noticed that at times my radio will start working correctly if I use the auto start feature on the fob. As stated earlier, sorry to start another thread I just didn't see any definitive answers in the other section. Thank you!

Random electrical gremlins? Inspect and clean all major ground locations for a start. What year Avalanche?

https://www.gmupfitter.com/pdflists/view/6 Look for your year on the website linked, find the electrical diagram, find ground distribution section. Now go remove, clean and replace those grounding points! Modules also have grounding pins built into the wiring harness, so if you can narrow problems down to a certain module, ECM, BCM, TCM, etc, you may consider inspecting and ohm'ing ground pins inside of each module's harness.

Not sure why I didn't see your post before now, but reply back with what you've attempted and maybe more details. Good luck foghorn114!
