My AV has probably gotten me out of two tickets so far for LOUD music. ?The first time the cop told me "nice truck" and let me go with just a warning. ?Last night, the officer told me he wouldn't write a me a ticket if I gave him a ride in "this fine vehicle". ?Gotta love this truck! ;D

I generally don't approve of the ricer look but I gotta admit that's one cool set of wheels!

Whoa! Nice tubes! What sizes are they; front, rear, and sides?

I have the Pro Series kit from Liteglow which contains two 4 foot (sides) and two 3 foot tubes (front/rear) with a single Variable Output Transformer installed under the hood. This kit pumps out 9000 volts of pure neon color! ;D

Very nice looking truck. ?I like the under the cover stealthy mods much better than bolt-on stuff.

If you look at my install you really can't tell I have them until I choose to switch them on at night. ?By the way, no hard feelings about the ricer site ?;D

All right, I'm crying 'Uncle'. I'm from Minnesota not Texas and I really want to know something. What exactly is a "Ricer?" ???

Just to add to that..I believe that the term originated from Asian decendants who started to mod the Honda Civics.....hence the stereotype "ricers".. :)

and don't confuse the ricer's with the G's/gangsta's

only difference, is the type of car. G's have slammed suburbans, cadillacs etc.. Ricers have mostly compact Japanese cars.

Don't feel too bad gandolphxx - took me a while to realize that 'ricer' was an auto term. For me it went back to the derogatory 'rice burner' in reference to a Japanese motorcycle as exclaimed by a Harley rider (usually with middle finger raised in salute)!

Repeat after me . . not getting old, not getting old . . .

Getting back to the original post, what kind of music were you listening to?
Its interesting to note that my music tastes have changed since I bought the AV. I now listen to Puddle of Mud, and other head banger stuff. Loud. Never used to.
Other habits that have changed:
I let people in - it seems to be a gracious thing to do - its obvious that I don't have to let them in.

Normally with my bug, I listen to head banger stuff like Nitzer Ebb, and Ramenstein etc... but, with the AV, I keep finding myself listening to "Bad to the Bone" not sure why.... ;D

A little Guns N Roses never hurt nobody..... ;D ;D

I listen to everything from new/old rock, r & b, top 40 so on ...

The music that gets me into trouble is the bassing type jamz ... songs like Rollout by Ludacris or Journey into Bass by DJ Laz ... usually on cruizin nites  The AV's bed is great for bumping with it's enclosed cargo panels and thick rubber lining and dropping midgate. You definitely don't get that ghetto trunk rattle. I think a closet audiophile helped designed this setup >:D

Is that blue neon? Here in OKlahoma they WILL nail you for blue or red (cool truck or not). The police feel that only they have the rights to those colors.

I have purple neons. We have the same thing in our traffic code here in texas regarding the red and blue lights.

Back to the original post . . .

Cut a State Trooper off in traffic at about 10:00 PM on 275 in Cincinnati. Was changing front center lane to far left lane and it may appear that he was either moving at a high rate of speed of I have a blind spot in the drivers side rear view mirror.

So on come the flashing lights and I pull over in fairly heavy traffic. I reach for the wallet and my ID and roll down the window getting ready for the worse. He shows up with flashlight in hand laughing and says I almost put him into the guard rail. I said I did not see him and when that happens most people honk - he says he thought the lights would be more effective. They were . . . he says drive safe and walks off.

Very strange pull over could have ticketed me - didn't talk about the truck!! Chalk this up to the "AV Factor" - one down and many more to come!

I will take a little longer when using driver side view mirror. I thought it had no dead spots!!!

Rather than write a novel, I'll just refer you to:

A "Rice Boy" drives a "ricer"

;D ?;D ?;D

Thanks, dude! Now I know what a "ricer" is. Man, there is a whole car culture (or cultures) around that I was entirely unaware of. Oh well. Live and learn. Or, join the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club and learn. Hehe.

My Av makes me want to play music loud too . . . mostly darker metal styles . . . Dimmu Borgir, COF, Scholomance, Dark Army, etc. I love pulling up to my local guitar store with some Dark Army cranked. The salesguys get a kick out that music cranking out of an Av. It's a great combination! ;D
