Has anyone experienced horrible engine noise from their truck?  If I run the amp and the HU directly to the battery, I only get it when the ignition is in the accessory position.  This equipment works fine in another car I tested.  I have had to go back tot he factory head unit to eliminate the noise.  I am using a Soundstream DX7 and get noise in the right from with the volume turned all the way down.  It sounds like there is data such as the throttle position sensor data coming from the RF speaker.  Has anyone experienced this before?  As a side note, the interior was removed to install new carped and pad from a water leak.  I welcome any and all feedback.  I am desperate here!!!!  :help:

It sounds like a grounding problem to me. I have installed many systems in various vehicles and have found this to happen once in awhile. Are you grounding the HU to the factory wiring or a seperate ground? Changing the grounding location has worked for me in the past to fix this problem. I also used to get this when using an aftermarket amp and would either have to ground the amp different or use a ground loop isolator on the RCA's.

try using the factory ground built into the wiring harness on the HU and a ground loop isolator on your amp for the RCA's.
