I just dealt with this recently and plagued me for a couple weeks till I figured it out, which I should have been smarter because it was pushing oil out of the valve cover bolts. And the excessive water from a leaking exhaust valve seal letting in steam, especially on humid or rainy days. There's more alcohol in thefuel which holds more water which causes more steam which was escaping through the seal into my valve cover causing residue on my dipstick and oil fill cap which I replaced both thinking it could have been those seals also. At least it's an easy fix because it's not too bad replacing valve seals, but figured put this on here because it's an issue I dealt with and possibility of others especially since I read about other people dealing with excessive water building up inside their engine with no explanation.
The quick fix I did until my parts came in was I have an oil catch can hook up to my engine and instead of having the line go from the catchcan to the air intake I used a 3/8 Y in with the PCV hose directly to the intake so I had full vacuum and added an inline PCV valve so I have regulated air going into the intake instead of having a straight unregulated tube and messing with the engine causing engine codes and higher idle. It alleviated the pressure enough so the oil stopped coming out of the valve cover and all the water went into my oil catch can and dried out the engine.
