Well, Picking up my 2004 tomorrow. I went and got the Owners Manual yesterday from the dealer to have a nice good book to read over and over untill monday.
I am on Page 2/25, Power Windows:
The Drivvers adn front passenger window switches have the express-down feature that allows you to lower the wiondow(drivers adn or passenger, or both) continuously with out the need to press the respective switch...

I have/getting rid of my 02 adn this express was on my Drivers Side but NOT the Pass.
It was annoying. I know I lost a hood light (but I am doing the mag light mod for both side as in my 02) but I will gladly do with out that to get express down on both front windows.

Just thought to share that with you all. Does the 03 have this feature?

Later...

On my 02 to 03 trade I lost the following: Aux trans oil cooler, hood light, locking center console, Cabin air filters, Articulating head rests, Bowtie stiched in seat backs, drain plug for rear diff, adjustable light intensity on visor lights among a few. Of course many new cool features were added for 03 but they were not without additional cost. I hope you dont find to many other lost features on your 04.

Fot those of you who never had the honor of owning a 2002, the express down was ONLY available on the Drivers Side Windao.
Many folk here as I, complained that it should have been both front windows. I think some folk went and modded the Pass Side window to gain this feature.
I was only just sharing my new found love with everyone-

Later,

D

03-04 signal mirrors + electrochromatic side mirrors...Thats what im doing when I take delivery of the 02 3/4ton im looking at...

Good Luck... 03 went Computer controls... Both the Drivers door and passenger door have a computer module that controls all the functions in the mirror and everything else... Windows, locks, mirror heater, mirror turn signals, power fold, tilt of mirror, heated seats, etc....

02 all was still hard wired.. 03 on, they added the computers.... Ouch, much harder to upgrade!

I wish my 02 didn't have the cabin filters. What a royal pain to change them out! :E:

I think you are supposed to change them every 10K miles. I'm overdue on my second change. Oh well.... :p

I would gladly give mine up. Hate 'em when I want to just crack the window. I mean really, how long do you have to hold your finger on the button to put the window down? And you CAN push two buttons at the same time. BTW, mine aren't the same. The time required for the "express" to take over is diff. on each window. ???

I don't beileve it is timed, but rather a two-stage button. Push and hold lightly to manually lower. Push all the way down and release for auto down. Just have to have the right "touch" for manual, and I will agree that they are touchy. This is how it works on my '03 anyway ???

The '04 is the same in this regard. You push the window button down slightly until you encounter the first bit of resistance then stop. You can push past that and feel/hear a tiny click, and that's when the auto down feature is engaged. It's a tad bit touchy, but you get used to feeling for it quickly.

I think I asked this once before...anyone know of a way to get rid of (override) the express dpwn feature?

If you hate your cabin filters so much why not just leave them out??

Congrats on the 04!!

The express feature for the passenger side is on my 03 along with the power side mirrors--photochromatic--etc. ;D

Think they were part of the Driver's Package.

This is something else I found out about my AV here on this, the best Automotive site on the net! There are no markings on the buttons to let you know they are auto down buttons, hell I thought it was something else they deleted since my '02! This is a cool feature, I tried it today on my driver's side and then for good measure, leaned over and hit the button on the passenger side and of course it worked on both sides. I definately like that feature, now if it only had express up... :B:

I was wondering if the 03-04 drivers switch could be installed in a 02? I like the new style switch better than the rocker switch. The switch panel looks the same, but are the connectors the same?
