EXT roof rack

Anyone thought of this? The chrome looking bars on the top of the ext look sweet. I think they are standard equipment on the ext but the parts should be available. What do you guys think?

Would look pretty good! Especially if you had the SnugTop as it has those as well.

It would dress up the roof rack with a little classiness.

I just called the local cadillac part dept and he told me that there is no listing for it yet...it is too new. ?Anyone out there know someone at their local parts dept that would take the time to find out about availability on these things? ?I am willing to bet that people with racks already on their avys would not want to do this because the holes probably will not line up with where they need to be for the ext rack. ?
:D: :8:

Try GM Parts Direct - from a description, they will research part numbers and give you a price.

Dal at VanDevere may be willing to do the same thing - but I hesitate to bug him if I'm not serious about buying.

I am considering the EXT roof rack also, only if the holes match my current AV roof rack's. I have not had the opportunity to confirm. The part no. you're looking for is 12497770. GM list is $275, GM Parts Direct is $192.50 + shipping of course.

Anyone have a good photo of this? I saw an EXT on the road yesterday and couldn't get close enough (it was 3 lanes over) to check the top side. I tend like the lack of chrome on newer vehicles and would hesitate to add anything chromed. I think it would clash with the rest of the Av and look 'added on'...but I'm still curious. :cautious:

Anyone have the part number for the EXT's Roof Rack.

I like the look of it over the AV one and thought I might put it on.

Thanks.

You can look them up here ...

ESCALADE/EXT ACCESSORIES.

Be sure to checkout their catalog in PDF format.

ps - You will see the same EXT that they used for the Avalanche "Top Box Storage Bag" photo that some members thought was a 2003 AV.

Does anyone know if the EXT rack will fit the AVY. Sorry couldnt find a thread. If yes how can I get the part #? Thanks for any help. AJ

well jim i went to the caddy dealer right when i first got my av, and got a quote for the ext rack. my av doesnt have a rack from factory. so the price for me to get everything need to have the ext rack is about $500. then being that is a tricky task to get the holes drilled for it, so i would prefer to have either the dealership or a body shop install it. because all you have to do is get a hole off by a half inch off and the whole istall is put on hold because now you have to bondo and repaint roof. so im not sure what they would charge to install, but im putting the total price probably around $600-650.

I have wondered the same thing. :0: That EXT rack looks much cleaner and asthetically pleasing, as compared to the plain Jane standard issue rack. Personally, I wish I didn't have one at all. If I need to haul that much where it won't fit in my bed, I'll just hook up my trailer.....

This looks like the same rook rack in my AV accessory catalog.

It may be worth checking out if the avalanche and EXT roof rack mounting points are the same. I doubt that there would be much difference other than the finish.

What about the roof rack that was on the concept Avalanche? That one is awesome!

02-Z66,if not too late, could you get a price on ext running boards as well? thx in advance

there was a member who installed them on his AV. he gives step by step info on how to install them. do a search. :B:

sorry guy's. i did not get over to the dealer as promised. my wifes' stupid truck had the key stuck in the ignition. i had to go rescue her. then try to figure out why the thing would not let the key go. got it figured out. and it is not the ignition lock cylinder. it was more like the shifter linkage hanging up preventing the ignition from going to the lock position.
i promise i will have the info on Monday. i even wrote a note for myself. :B:

for you guys wondering about the price on the roof rack the price would be:

$355 /the list price is $455

and for those interested in the running boards they will be

$1000 /the list price is $1200

hope this helps. anyone wanting to know more, or ready to purchase let me know. :B:
