I'm trying to install outside mirror mounted turn signals. Started looking for a way to run the wires from the mirror to the inside and got stumped.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to snake the wires from the mirror to the inside?

Looks like a lot of panel removals. If so, please let me know about how to remove the panels.

Thanks mucho!

I know its tough to search and find everything around here, but there's been a lot recently posted on this:

Take a look there. If not, go to http://www.streetinspiredkustoms.com and have a look.

You'll have to take the door apart (easy) and run through that little black rubber wiring boot on the door (not so easy).

(y) Thanks for the heads up. Went to the web site and OH, MY GAWD!! What a bunch of work to snake these wires.

I'll get on it this weekend... ;)

Much thanks and +++'s your way

Well, I finally got around to hooking up the turn signal lights, before ripping apart the door. Man, the lights were way lame.

So I appreciate all the help on figgerin' out how to get the wiring done, but I'm not about to tear apart the door, etc. for punie lamps.

Signin' off from the moon, this is your star reporter!

Hey no problem. I haven't gotten around to doing mine yet. Although the turn signal lights on mine a fairly bright. I was happy with 'em.

The door is extremely easy to take apart. It's two (I think 7 or 9 mm bolts). Then you just pull up on the entire assembly (its sort of "hooked" in place). You also naturally need to take off the triangular piece behind the mirror.

All in all, it took about 5 minutes to take my door apart.

Of course, then you have to take off the outside kick panel (next to the emergency brake), the dash trim (if you want to install a button there), some footwell kick panels, etc.

I still think this is fairly easy, I changed my cabin filter. The dash trim comes off easily. The hardest part will probably be fishing those wires through the rubber boot. I have an electrician's fish tape, so I figured I'd give that a go.

Looks like I must have caught some bad karma too!! (probably someone I told to go looking for the same thread).

Either way, glad I could help.
