Good morning to all , been looking for a answer for the factory amp location on my 2007 avalanche . The radio only has low volume , once in blue moon the sound comes up on a 85 degree day . Not the base system , not behind the glove box , not under the center console. Where can it be ???????

First welcome to the website!
It would help if we knew more info, what model AV do you have and is it equipped with the stock radio or the Bose sound system or an aftermarket unit? (not sure what you mean by "not the base system".)
You may find info by reading the threads in the a/v electronics section and if your not sure what your AV is equipped with take a look inside your glove box for your RPO codes and look at the thread dealing with decoding the RPOs.
Also has this problem been around since 2007 or something new? Have you had any electrical work done recently?
Good luck.

It's stock what I meant it has no Bose amp , just factory . A few years ago it was always intermittent now just the door post speakers play . I've pull all the panels all speakers test good . I bought her new and going to die with it . It's got a 10800 thousand on runs and drive like nothing else , I acquired a 2005 with Bose works great it has # 2 cylinder dead the dumb ass that run with a bad bank 2 sensor 2 failed . He a aircraft tech dumb hell for trucks , soon project to make repairs on her . I have 2010 Silverado gave it my in the Marines ( junk ) compared to a Avalanche, I shaped a radio for moment from 2010 and of course it locked up, damit si he put double din in it . Can't find the factory amp 😒

I need to find out where the factory amp is in my 2007 avalanche Lt. The mystery goes on

I used the word search function and just entered 2007 stereo amp location and found this thread.....I think your question is answered in post #1.

All good info, it help me find out my RSA is not working at all . Can't a power fuse. Any advise ?

The spelling aid is bull , I'll look a break down for that system . Do you have any advice

Well I guess nobody knows , I've called 3 Gm dealers and don't have clue , they have part # but no clue . I'll keep looking
Thanks

my amp is behind my glove box. i have a 2002 AV worst case senario, follow wire from door speakers to amp

Tried all that , nothing under the console , xm box behind the glove box , RSA works fine . Chevy gave the part # no location , needs ventilation because it heats up ,lost so far .

You don't have a separate amp, right? It's built into the head unit. That's my take from speed-reading the link Vaeagleav provided. If the system works intermittently, it sounds like the head unit is on its way out.

Chevy says the part # is 20811234 , not on the radio. I worked 20 years at GMC in balto 5 .Iles from the truck plant . Back then service and parts could use the component location guide and you could find poop , now they don't know what your talking about , us old guys after 48 years in the business nobody can help that don't exist anymore . Anyway they say she has it , can't tell where !%$#%^*%#^**%##%*?*&# damit .

ned ya need to lay off the wine for a while and post complete sentences that make sense.

I thought that was pretty clear , been retired for 5 years some skills have been lost. The beer is cold .

what does this mean:
balto 5 .Iles

I get what every body is saying , the RSA plug was the RSA works off the radio fuse , but there's a 40 amp fuse for the amplifier. I checked from speaker to speaker all good 0.01 ohms . All wires at the connectors all checked out.
Yesterday it was 85 degrees here in Centerville MD the radio and amp worked all day , absolutely great . Didn't work this morning 😪.

What a dumb ass , I check ohm at the plug and not the spearkers 0.01 ohm ain't 4 ohm !!! Replaced all four in in the front and rear rocks like a hurricane 🌀 😎 👌 🤪 😜
