Factory Floor Mats

I just bought my AV and I thought that the Z71 package came with aggressive rubber floor mats but the dealer gave me some cheesy carpeted floor mats. So which ones should I have? ???

Yes, go back to your dealer and tell them you want the correct big black rubber Z-71 floor mats. I bet they swapped them out as a little bonus for a previous buyer, hoping you wouldn't notice.

Exact same thing happened to me. The floor mats had been taken from the one I bought and they said they would order replacements.

They sent the thin carpeted ones because "your VIN number indicates those are the ones you should have" even though the sticker said "aggressive floor mats with bowtie" in the Z66 package.

For the second round, I got the parts manager to order the correct mats only to find that the order had been cancelled by the sales manager refering back to the VIN number.

Anyway, after five weeks of ownership and several calls to the dealership, I finally got the right mats. The aggrevating thing is that even then they were acting like they were doing me a favor. ??? They acted like I was throwing in a demand for an extra perk after the deal had been made.

Good luck and stay with it. The Z66 has rubber mats that are a lot better than the carpeted ones.

What a bunch of idiots. I simply will not tolerate attitude like that from any dealership. As far as I'm concerned, they owe you something for their stupidity at the outset and for you being out of pocket for something you paid for.

I do my best to always try to buy domestic but I must say, I have always been treated like royalty by the import dealerships. Absolutely no attitude ever. For the most part, the domestic dealerships I have dealt with have been pretty brutal, with some less brutal than others. They act like they are doing you a favour selling or servicing one of their vehicles. If you ask me, the weakest link for the domestics right now is not their products, but their dealerships. Doesn't GM (or DC or FMC) understand this?

If I were you, I would go and get your mats and demand that they give you something of value for not giving you what you paid for in the first place. At minimum, I would tell them in very certain terms that you do not appreciate their attitude and will not tolerate it in the future. If conveyed properly (politely but firmly), I really do not believe that you will prejudice your relationship with them, but will be able to prevent recurrences of this nature.

Sorry to rant (and likely at the wrong post as I seem to recall seeing a thread dealing with dealer rants).

When you buy used, they don't owe you these things.

Yes, you should have received the good rubber mats with the bowtie in the middle.  If I?m not mistaken there is a code key breakdown in the glove box that will show the good mats.  I?m just not sure what the code is.  Do a search in the forum and you?ll come across it.  Show the dealership that and see what they say.

All lot of Av's that were suppose to have aggressive mats started to show up here in Canada in mid 05 with the cheaper mats. I heard from a few people that it was a "de-content" item! Some were successful in having them replaced some were not! those who were not were refereed to the disclaimer where GM reserves the right to make changes in options at their own discretion!

I do not think there is a code as it is a part of the Z66 & Z71 options...

That disclaimer only works with the brochure - ours were listed on the manifest - dealer just ordered us them through parts dept.

One of the few things they did us right on - hate stealers.

Very true. Kinda like most used AV's are missing the panel bags. You'd have the most success with these things if they are noted and dealt with before concluding the deal. Generally afterward your SOL because it's a used vehicle.
