FACTORY ROOF RACKS

DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE ADJUSTABLE ROOF RACKS FROM THE FIXED RAILS ON TOP OF THE ROOF ?
IT WOULD SEEM THAT UNNESSARY WIND NOISE AND RESISTANCE IS MADE.
SINCE I DO NOT PLAN TO CARRY ANYTHING ON THE ROOF, I WOULD LIKE TO REMOVE THE CROSS RAILS.

I've had luck with moving the cross-rails forward/backward a little to get rid of the wind noise.

If you want to remove the luggage rack cross-rails:
1. Depress the tabs and remove rear rail covers (#2 in attached picture).
2. Remove the rear support retainers.
3. Remove the rear supports and gaskets from the roof (#3 in attached picture).
4. Unlock the cross rails.
5. Slide the rear and front cross rails from the carrier assembly.
6. Put the rear supports, gaskets, and retainers back in place.
