Hey all, i haven't scoured the pages yet since i am a new member so please forgive me if i seem redundant.  I have an 03' Avalanche, Z66 with the Bose sound system.
1- does the existing OEM stereo Head Unit have RCA jacks already in it?
2- If not, I have a self powered sub that i wanna hook up. How can i do that?
3- Can i still hook up to the factory deck or do i need to go get a double din aftermarket unit?

Side question- what size screen do i purchase for my double din factory unit replacement?

First welcome to the website!
You are right in that there is a mountain of older threads that can answer your questions on this site, please take some time to read them for photos and info.
If you are impatient and need quick answers try contacting the customer service dept. at www.crutchfield.com they are very helpful and can help you select the right parts and adapters for your needs.

1 - No headunit does not have RCA's. You can add them with convertors but they are not there normally. Not worth it..
2 - You can tie into the subwoofer output but again, not worth it. New radio is better option.
3 - The head unit has front and rear powered outputs so you need a Line level convertor to convert power to low level. Or you can tie into the amplifier outputs which need a line level output convertor that can handle that extra power. The factory subwoofer is a dual voice coil 6" sub woofer mounted at the front of your console. Assuming you have a BOSE setup. If you don't have a BOSE setup then I don't believe you have an amplifier and just comes directly off the head unit.
