Ya Know...I see AV's all the time here in So Cal and I always try to wave....but most of the time I get no response or even noticed. (Which I think is odd cause I'm always on the lookout for other AV's, but maybe thats just me.)
So I'm making a left hand turn on my way to work the other day and as I completed my turn out of the corner of my eye I spotted a pewter AV on the other side of the road with all of its occupants waving and smiling trying to get my attention. Finally! I waved back and it kinda made my day. At least I had a big grin on my face for awhile. ;D

I know exactly how you feel Cindy, I wave to other AV's all the time, but only get aknowledged about 1 out of 20. I see alot of other AV's, and have even talked to a few guys (at the gas station, store, etc) and they have never even heard of the CAFCNA, I sometimes think that maybe the members here are in the minority when it comes to how we feel about our trucks.(I hope not :6:)

I know exactly how you feel Cindy. A few weeks ago I saw an Av on the highway here, she had Amber DRL's and a CAFCNA sticker on the rear window. I have the DRL's and my sticker is on the way (y) I couldn't stop smiling all the way home ;D

For the most part though I wave and do not get responses. Kind of makes you feel like a goof

Maybe it's the area I live in or maybe it's just that there aren't many Av's here yet.

Whenever I see another Av around here I almost always get a big "tumbs up" from other owners.

Kinda gives you that warm fuzzy feeling.

(now if I could just remember to print the club information and hand it to them  )

I wave too, but not sure if they see me (no waves back yet). What part of So Cal are you in, Cindy? I'll wave to you!!

Kinda off-subject here, but when I used to run allot, I would always wave to the police/sherriff cars as they drove by (I always run facing oncoming traffic). Nearly always, when there was one officer in the car, he'd wave back. But when there were two in the car, neither would ever wave. This is over many years. Kinda interesting, I always thought....

I always get waves or thumbs up. ;D

I think it's tougher here in SoCal. Most people seem to keep to themselves around strangers and I don't think very many people feel like waving when they're stuck in SoCal traffic but it's really no excuse.

I say let's keep trying (y)

You folks in SoCal gotta be careful . . lest you get shot when someone mistakes your wave for a less friendly gesture . . to bad :-[

I'll keep waving . . .I'd guess my average is 50% wave back . . the others just aren't that observant.

But if I'm honest, there have probably been times that I would have missed a wave too . . it's amazing that I've found that I can drive to work (20 miles) sometimes and remember NOTHING about the commute . . . SCARY!

Out here in farm country, most everyone waves anyway.. However, the few AV owners are so schocked to see another AV they forget to wave. Once they know another AV is in the area, it's thumbs up (y)

Your absolutely right about that. Heck you can get shot for wearing the wrong colors in certain parts of SoCal.

Discovered this weekend that one of my audio guys also has a side job of helping you hide your gun in your car. False aibag covers, false floors, magnetic clips under steering, etc... kinda sick when you think of it. :cautious:

kinda sick when you think of it.

You're right C-Rod. That is sick. :9:

I passed a lifted AV today in the Sears parking lot. Came within 2 ft. of em. They wouldn't even make eye contact...so of course I even didn't bother to try to wave much less offer them a club brochure. That's pretty typical around here. Thats why I was so happy to get the one wave that I got the other day. :)

I've kinda noticed it here in Houston too. I have waved at 3-4 Avs within a mile of my house and they are oblivious to my presence. (How can you miss a 400lb German driving a 6000lb truck?)

A few nights ago I found my self side by side with another Av on the Katy slowway and the driver barely glanced my way. I guess it is the big city "don't make eye contact" syndrome.

At least RLJack and WVBubba type to me... ;D

yeah once i was going on some road and i saw a av. i waved but they didn'y wave back :8: :8: :8: :8: it was i white one with a brush guard. I wanted that one but now i have a 1500 and after the lease is over i'm proboly gonna get a 2500 fully loaded (mabie). :B: :B: :B:

I hereby decree that all Av owners should wave to one another.

That way, we will all be "one big Avy family."

Pun intended.

:) ?
;) ?
:D ?
;D ?

I've been meaning to tell you, I just love your sig.

And I think it's a great idea to waive to other AV drivers. In all the years that I've been riding Harleys, we've always waived to the other riders. It just plain makes you feel good and it's nice when someone acknowledges that waive.

SoCalCindy let the waves begin!!!
