Hey y'all, new member here. I saw an old thread but was looking for more info on passing through the firewall or any alternatives to doing so. I don't really wanna go through the main so looking for alternatives. Oh and I have an 03 1500, just installing some floodlights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Jamie

Hello-I added a second battery to my 05 and went through the firewall on the passenger side to the left of the accumulator. If you take the shroud off of the heater inside you can drill from there into the engine compartment. I used a holesaw and installed a 1" galvanized nipple with large washers and locknuts on each side. Allows me to add wires if I need to. Once wires installed I packed it with fiberglass and electrical duct seal. Then I put the heater shroud back. You can't see it unless you get down at floor level. Just be careful you don't drill into the accumulator. It took about 10 measurement checks and a small pilot hole to get the location right.
