Hi all,

I have an 06 flex fuel Z71 that I?ve done a 6.2 swap on. I recently (about 6 months ago) started running e85. About 8 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, I purchased a non oem pump which lasted all of 4 weeks. Does anyone know of a high flow direct fit pump or has anyone retro fitted a high flow pump to fit?

Thanks in advance!

I retrofitted my stock pump with a Walbro 255 lph with out much trouble if you can fabricate, it's lasted over 100,000 miles so far.. Racetronix has what you need, so does Summit. You can use a 255 lph with out upgrading the harness. If you go to a 340 lph then the wiring will have to be upgraded.

Thanks Randy,

Do you have any pictures of the retro fit?
When you say upgrade the wiring, what do mean, the connector?
Or is the draw so much more substantial that the gauge of the wire is inadequate?

Thanks again!

No I didn't take pictures of the upgrade. The hard part is figuring out what fuel pump you have now to retrofit the new pump in and what connector you have on it.

The complete pump modules have come come down in price on line, you can buy a new module on ebay for $50-$75 and just pull the pump out, match it as close as possible with an aftermarket high flow pump, retrofit into the new module and then just swap it out swap it out.

And yes the wire size or gauge if you go more that a 255 lph is recommended, it will work but you risk burning up the wire with the higher flow pumps.

I bought a new module a while back and retrofitted dual pumps into it but have yet to install it. I have a dual wiring harness to put in also that will handle the extra amp draw from the pumps (see pictures). The harness is plug and play, plugs right into the factory connectors no cutting or splicing..

Thanks again Randy!

I?m somewhat familiar with the pump, I have the failed oem part to modify before removing the current pump, I?m hopeful that makes it a litttle easier.

Did you make the harness or buy it someplace?

Also I found a kit by On 3 performance that looks to be a pretty easy install.

My system is currently returnless and I as understand it not ass efficient/effective as a return style fuel system which may also be one of my problems. On 3 also offers a return kit.

How much power can a dual pump system support and what flow rate pumps are you using Randy?

I will likely be shooting for 700hp in my truck in the coming years and just curious.

Hoping to go with Magnuson SC on a built 6.0.  Need to start considering what fuel system I will need for it. Mine I believe has a return system on it since it is an '03 with the external fuel filter.

abendigo.. I picke the harness from Racetronix. I used two of the FPWH-022 and reworked them so they are tied together with the ECM controlling pump #1, then pump #2 will come on under boost (if I ever put the blower on). I set it up also so that I can turn on/off pump 1# and #2 manually with a switch so that if pump #1 fails I can just turn on pump #2 and never be stranded.

Rod... The dual 510 lph set up will support 1000 HP
