Fitch Fuel Catalyst Won't Fit...

I received my set of 8 catalysts to install in the tank, and as I feared given the pencil-neck diameter of the fuel hose, the elements are still in the "tube" instead of the tank....making them useless and rendering my tank unfillable....It really amazes me that ANY "engineer" would assemble a BB truck with a fuel hose smaller than what's on a Jeep.....FYI-the TSB for the fuel fill issue only works for me when I can find an old or unbooted gas nozzle...the new Enviro-Whacko variety in NorCal is so airtight that the back pressure shuts it down every 5-7 gals......This is getting old for such a basic issue.

I igured out how to fix or get the catalysts into the tank....just disconnect the big crossover tube into the top of the main tank and plunk them in there....also while R & R'ning the situation I disconnected the first crossover tube below the fill tube, and found a "1-way" flapper valve that clearly obstructs the filling as well as the back splash....in addition to creating an impassable obstruction for my Fitch Catalysts to encounter.....The more I look at the wimpy, half-assed fuel fill lines the more I gotta believe these engineers were smoking crack....

I left my truck with a full tank for a week while we went to Denver for the CART Fedex GP and the Pro-Celeb Charity Ride ....the truck seemed real frisky compared to the usual "blah" I get with "stale" CAL gas...and our gas gets stale QUICKLY.
If anyone's interested in riding Harley's with IndyCar drivers and some hollywood types goto:

Most fun I've ever had (mosty clothed.)

If I'm reading correctly the in the tank ones are not for the AV. ?You need to inline kit.

AV Application

My kit was around $180, and included 8 separate clips or magazines or 4 or 5 elements each. I selected the amount appropriate to my 37 gallon tank. I figured that if I save even 1mpg, that's about 3 gallons per tankful or around $6.00 for 91 here in the Occupied Bay Area ($2.00/gal), and since I fill at least 1x a week, the savings will be over $300/yr...plus the improved performance.

my cousin has something like this on his dodge ram 2500 with the v10. he got it from the dealer when he bought the truck and he gets about 12-13mpg. i would say thats pretty good for that size of truck. with a truck every mpg counts. i might try it but its not high the list.

Has anyone successfully install this on a 2500 and what were the results? I know I am always looking for gains in mileage and HP.

Thanks,

SPF973,
Did you know what MPG you were getting before the Fitch? And have you checked it out again, since you've been running it for a while? I'm interested in finding out before and after results.

Thanks

My 2500 gets 12Mpg Hwy instead of 11 now at 80-83Mph steady state (Cal-Idaho). It has the Superchip, so less trans slippage I think as well. The Fitch's help mostly with improving the crummy "oxgenated" and "winter" gas...especially whe an allowed to sit for a week or more....This new gas is so wimpy (91 it claims) to begin with that whatever few volatiles it came with are usually gone in a week. The Fitch's make a difference that is felt in my seat. Even if I only picked up 1 mpg, at around $2.00/ gal in the Occupied Bay Area, that pays for itself pretty quickly. Still awaiting new Magna-Flow Cat -Back kit.
