Well...I finally put my Flag Bowtie on my AV today. I like it! ;D

Hey Windy, do you have the problem with each corner of the bowtie showing the cut that was made in order for it to fit flat on the front? That's the only prob I had. I'm running the RWB now.
 
;DThat is super looking, i just put my envelope in the mail today with a money order for the flag bowtie. Is that the grill you got from carriage works. I just checked in town today and our speed shop said he can order me one for 120.00 buckaroossssssssss. i like the way they both look, sweet A/V.............. does that paint hold up on the cladding???????? looks really good.

The corners of the bowtie do have a slight cut showing but not really to obvious. I can live with it.

I really wish I could tell everybody the manufacturer of the grill but unfortunately it was part of the package from the dealer and I forgot to ask them the brand.

The painted cladding seems to be holding up very nicely so far!! Only had the Av six weeks (still love it as much as when I bought it though). ;D ;D ;D ;D

You have one of the sweetest looking Avalanches I have seen! A couple of questions for you.....

What make & size wheels do you have?
How much did you pay to have the cladding painted?

I love to drive past the wind mills on the way to Joshua Tree while playing Robert Plant's "29 Palms" on my stereo.

I have a 2002 white Z71 all leather , moon roof etc.

Your truck looks slammin painted on the bottom half.

Yeah, just drop me an email. I'll extend the club GP for any late comers locked in at 27 dollars each for a week or so.

I'm closing the group purchase now. Managed to pick up a few scragglers. I'll be getting the bowties in wednesday or thursday so I'll be staring on them then. These will be the last bowties that I'll be making since I'm starting a 2nd job after my full time job doing drafting work on week nights. This will most likely take up a lot of my free time and I won't have any time to make the flag bowties any more.

If anyone is interested in making them themselves and selling them let me know and I'll sell you my excess bowties/decals and set you up w/ all the contact info that you'll need.

For those who already ordered on the group purchase I'll be making the bowties frantically and sending them on the basis of who got the check or money order in first to be fair. You should start seeing them appearing in the mail as early as next week. I will send out your email notifications still as well.

But, I really appreciated the orders, I've got to say there was a lot more than I expected. But, at least you'll be out there showing your pride in the USA.
 
OK guys, first we are unique with cladding, now the famous Jon's Flag Bowties are history - this is getting grim. ;D

Like Jon, I have also taken on a second job, sort of, I am moderating a track on http://www.gm-trucks.com called "High Performance - we will be covering a wide range of engine/transmission topics - 4.8/5.3/6.0/8.1/Dmax - if you have the time come on over and join the fun - thinking about starting a virtual project vehicles game.

Will still be active here - just timesharing - also have to get my new business off the ground.

Patriotic bowties will be available soon. I am working with Jon to get this going (materials, supplies, graphics & etc.). ?:rolleyes:

Hey word yet on the availability of the new Flag Bowties?

Know you are working on it, just the more I think about it , the more I want one.

Have a Blue Av, and here in Ohio have the Red, White, and Blue plates. Think the flag bowtie will finish it off.

Just got mine today. ?Put it on in approximately 45 seconds. ?Looks great. ?The new style OH plates are RWB also so it matches the front plate. ?Very cool. :cool:

Flag Bowtie Update

Jon and I have worked everything out. I'm at the stage of ordering materials and improving the clearcoat over the flag to make it more durable. Will post pictures and ordering info. as soon as things are ready.
 
:-[ Ok, I need a repacement stock bowtie. Caught a large rock I guess, ( don't know, estimating from damage) right in the bow tie and it is severely cracked in two. Ouch. I am glad the rock hit me there and didn't hit on the hood or windshield.

So any of you interested in selling your stock bow's let me know. I'll post again in the buy/sell section.
