Hello guys, I've read several threads similar to the issue I'm having but no one seems to have a fix for it. Anyway, I have a 2007 Avy 5.3L LT...when I'm driving home with the lights on there is a very noticeable flicker on the headlights and the dome light inside. Sometimes it will flicker worse than others, meaning more noticeable. A mechanic told me to check the ground that runs from the positive battery terminal to the engine block. He said to remove it and clean the connection. I've also read where people are mentioning another ground wire that could cause this...would the ground running from the fuse box to the firewall cause this issue? I had the battery checked out at the parts store and it's good. I've never replaced the original alternator....could this cause this issue? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

LEts fix your post:

Grounds go from BATTERY NEGATIVE to frame, engine block etc.

I am having this same issue. Wondering if cleaning the ground wires fixed the problem or if it turned out to be something else. I see HAWG WILD hasn't been around since Feb 1 so not sure if he will respond. I searched the forum and found stuff on pre-'07 Avy's but not much on '07 and up. My battery is less than a year old and the alternator is a 145 also less than a year old. Both test out OK. I have had no problems with the battery holding a charge or the truck not starting. Just this flickering in high or low beam, going 50mph or idling. Weird.
