This is a new untested product. I find it hard to believe, that by enlarging the case (now 5 x 10 inch), and slightly altering the interior components, that the Super 40 will solve the prior incarnations inherent resonation problems, and on top of that increase HP even further! Only time will tell.
As far as the "Hush Power", what a marketing blitz, with phrases like:
"with Cool Shell Technology. Guided sound control with broadband sound cancellation. "
You say what? LOL, a salesman's dream. What about this statement (I received these by fax from Flowmaster a while ago):
"Layered-laminar jet engine gas flow design."
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....
Designed primarlily for street rods, and sport trucks, there are limited configurations of this product, so I won't be able to test this on my AV, but I'll get it tested on an employees 5.3L with a single tailpipe to get some input. It's nice that they are available in 409, and 304 stainless, but this is a new unproven design as far as I'm concerned.
I haven't seen any performance data on either of these mufflers to date, I guess we will just have to wait.
Interesting though, I can say that much.
