Fluid Capacities For Front Axle & Rear End

I cannot find the capacities for the Av 2500 front axle & rear end. I have 7000 miles on ours and want to change the fluids out, now that the initial break-in period is over.

We live in Monument, CO and are running Mobil1 0W-30 (winter is coming and it gets c o l d here!). I want to use Mobil1 synthetics in the front and rear end also.

Where does Chevy keep capacity info? I have searched high and low, to no avail. :-[

Also, the owner's manual lists the correct oil filter for the 2500 as PF59; however the vehicle actually had a PF454 as original equipment. Does anyone have any idea as to what's up with that?

Thanks!!!

I'm not sure about the differential capacities. I did do some checking on the oil filters. The 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 liter engines use the PF-59 filters. the 8.1 liter engines use the PF454 type. You didn't say what engine you have in your AV. Hope this is some help. :)

...All of the 2500's are 8.1L engines. The owner's manual lists the PF59 for the 8.1L also.

exalt3. Do you know what the difference is between the PF59 and the PF454? If the PF454 is a longer/bigger filter I would be interested in using it on my 5.3 L if it will fit. Thanks

Regarding the 2 filter sizes: All of the auto parts houses in my area are out of both sizes>>I too, want to make visual comparisons. If I do find them in stock somewhere, I will make a posting regarding my observations.

Blessings!
