Flushed Street Pilot 3 In Center Pockets

Hey, whats up everyone, this week i'll be starting the mod of flushing my street pilot III into my center pockets(console) I will leave the top pocket intact, but cut out the bottom pocket to fit the street pilot. Then i'll use bondo to feather and flush the gps to match the center console(pocket). Lots of sanding and primer, then a final coat of color matched paint to give it the factory look. I should have this mod done by the end of the week. I will have pics availiable. I'll keep you all posted.

Will it be easy to remove for updates and map uploads, or are you mounting an extension cable somewhere else?

hey, the streetpilot 3 came with a 128mb card, so i have ALL of new england . But it will be failry easy to take out, right now there are 2 7mm bolts in the lower pocket that hold the console in. I will try to retain these screws on the finished product.

i took, some pics, but my pc wont read the cd But, I found out that i had to remove about 3" of the lower pocket in order for the gps to fit but, thats not really an issue. I 'll keep you guys posted, i have to let the bondo sit overnight and harden before i start sanding.

I finally finished the project, pics by end of weekend im happy with it. I had to really cut out the cd holder from behind the pocket, but other than that, it was an easy job, it looks factory, which is really cool.
