OK, later today I'll be receiving new wiring and connectors for the lower driving and fog lights on my 06 Z51. The truck came with replacement lights, not installed.
For the life of me I could NOT find the leads/connectors harness in the truck. I wasnt even sure the ruck had this feature. Eventually I did find them. They were tucked up into the chassis, as to not drop down while driving. One set ( the right side) is fully intact, but the connectors look terrible. It appears the leads come from a harness for other things. The left side...not so good. I found a couple (2) of stripped wires (no connectors) coming out of a similar harness. It looks like I'll have to dig into that side to find where exactly these wires tie into and why there are only 2, when there should be 5 or more wires. Just looking to see if anyone has had to access the larger harness ( conatined in a conduit) to get to these leads?

I've never had to get into the harness of the lights, but the ground is on the frame rail on the passenger side, it's very hard to get to unless you remove the bumper cover, it can be accessed from the front passenger side fender well, you can pull the inner fender cover off and reach around the front of the frame and feel the bolt and 2 ground wires, one will be for the lights and the other one goes to the battery post, someone else said there were 3 ground wires there but I only had 2, good luck!

Thank you! This bit of info probably saved me a lot of disappointment. I suspect the ground is fine, but I'll be sure to inspect it. I was wanting to bull the bumper cover off anyway as it has a small crack in the plastic. This will let me do a proper repair. I'll post my activity when I get to it this weekend. Weather permitting.
