Fog Light-A-Palooza!

I normally check my forward lights every morning reflecting on the back wall of my garage before I leave for work, and yesterday I find that my fogs aren?t working. The light on the button lights up, but no lights. So I?m thinking that while it is possible both lights burned out at the same time, it?s not very likely? So I drive to work and immediately log onto CAFC to search for where the fuse and relay are located. I get the info, get home last night and pull the fuse- looks good. I pull the relay, check the contacts and put it back in. Before I steal the relay from the wife?s Yukon to try,? I decide to check the voltage at the bulb connector on one side- bingo- I have voltage- and a burnt out bulb filament. I read in my search that a lot of you folks have posted about replacing the std 25W 880 bulbs with the brighter 50 W 885?s, so I zip down to Autozone and score a couple to try them. Replace both the bulbs and everything is good in the world again- they work. I turn those fogs on this morning and I am IMPRESSED! It?s pretty funny that both bulbs decided to quit at the same time, but I?m glad they did. Now I think I like my low beams better than the high beams, so I?m on the hunt to find that thread about how to get both the highs and lows and fogs on all at once?AND I?m buying a couple more of those 885?s for the wife?s Yukon- won?t she be surprised! Thanks for the info guys-

There's alot of knowledge flowing around here...

Thanks again to ALL that have helped me!  :yourock:

Bad Dad

I've had Sylvania 885's in mine for years now and have been very pleased with them.

Try putting some HIDs in there..  VERY BRIGHT

In order for all 4 headlights and the foglights to be on, it looks like all I need to do is ground the connector C4 (green) location B3 and put a diode between Connector C1 (white) B3 and C3, correct?

Yep. That did it. Really lights up the road on high now!

Damn- added bonus- now when I use my key fob to unlock the truck- the fogs flash too! How cool is that?  :D

OK, its time I stepped out of the shadows and gave up my title as "Professional CAFCNA Site Lurker" and ask a question.

I have a 2006 WBH.? Will the Sylvania 885's fit?? I was looking online at the 885 vs. the stock 881's and the bases look different.? If they will fit, this is a mod that I'll do today.? Thanks.? ?
