I want to replace my Fog Light bulb (Lower bumper lights) on my 2007 LTZ with a HID kit but I can't find any info on the bulb type (Base)

The only info I found on the forum was just the info printed on the actual bulb but it does not correspond to any typical type on the market.

What the heck is it?

Please keep us posted as there are a number of 07 AV owners looking to do the same thing , or similar.

thanx

Check e-bay under HID conversion kit and you will find a wide range of kits-I have an 05 with top and bottom kits.

2007 has a totally different bulb. One that has a weird base. The bulb is part of the base which snaps into the housing. Not like previous bulbs which have a 1/4 turn to lock in.

From what I have understood they do not make a hid kit for the fog lights.. I tried to have them installed when I did my low beams and they said the only way it was done is with some cuban engineering( im from miami and im cuban) lol They said they would use a H1 bulb because of its size and they would have to glue it onto the fog lamp directly... This is the borken down easy way of putting it its involves a little more thinking.. Also my frien who works in the installation bay said that even though it could be done you need to be carefull how much time you run the fogs because it could melt the housing... I DID THIS IN MY PREVIOUS AVALANCE and it was fun explaing what happend the to dealer, HENCE it wasnt Cheap lol Good luck...

I personally like the two tone look the 8000k hids up top and the fogs standard halogens, Same way it comes on the Escalades and almost all other cars and trucks...

LOL, I understood your joke. I am from Lauderdale but had to work in Miami for 6 months.

I have read a couple of threads on this website where members stated they did HID's on their 07 Fogs but none of them have replied to my request for more info.

My HID's arrived yesterday and the garage tech could not get my fogs to fit....
the low beams didn't either...I spoke to the high intensity sales rep and he said the there still is a lot of sketchy info coming out about the 07's so they had bad info....
he refunded my money for the fogs and sent me a H11 kit for my low beams....
hopefully the lows will work this time....

I guess with time they will get there act together.................

If anyone hears of HID fogs for the 07 please post.....

Did you guys send a PM to Dave - Oviedo? He would have access to all that information.

Based on post count might not be able to but he can go http://www.oviedosafetylights.com/ and scroll to the bottom to "contact"

or  http://www.oviedosafetylights.com/Contact.idc  <<---Just click there!

I spoke to Dave and he said the bulbs are very hard to come by for the 04-07's
the manufacturers just don't make them.....

He said he has one more set of 880 bulb type........I am not sure what the 07's have but the 880 will fit the 06's and younger......

Does anyone know the bulb size/number for the 07 fog light????

Flaboy

The 880 bulb is for 02 -06 Cladded Av's fogs. I know because I did the foglight HID conversion on my old 2004 Av. (Friggin Awesome).

The 07 Av uses a totally different bulb where the base snaps into the housing instead of a bayonet type base.  :E:

Search Ebay.. i was just on there and they had a fog light set, ran about $80 + $20 shipping or something like that... search for 07 Tahoe.. they have the same fogs.

a temp fix for hid fogswould be this. take stock bulbs out. then hollow out the center  insert new hid bulb that is equal lenth[h3] or a [h1] maybe and use high temp jb weld to bond the hid bulb to old bulb housing. then insert it into the fog light housing and wire it up. this way you will not touch or alter the stock fog light housing .you are only altering the stock fog light bulb itself to make your own direct fit hid fog kit. very easy. i have done it on many cars before the correct hid bulb was even produced. i even did quad and bikes this way. :B:

2007 bulbs:
highbeam - 9005LL
lowbeam - H11
drl - 3157K
turn signal - 3457NAK
fog - ?

Looking at going with:
highbeam - piaa xtreme white plus 19015
lowbeam - piaa xtreme white plus 15111
drl -
turn signal -
fog -

Anyone try Hella Extreme Yellow Headlight & Foglight Bulbs?  Thinking of going with those in the fog lights,
http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts.aspx/partfamilyid/1903/subcategoryid/353/category/26

What is the OE ansi # of fog light bulb?

Was going to go with Silverstars 3157a/4157a for the Amber drl's, but with some here pointing out they don't last last too long, looking at other options.

Figure while I have things opened up to change the drl's might as well do some more mod's.

Well do we know the Fog Bulb Yet?  :help: :help: :help:

or even better what kits i need for a 2007 low beams and fogs?

I have been looking at HID lighting kits for my 07 as well and don't know if one brand is better than the other. I have found some that use Phillips brand ballasts and some that use german brand ballasts. I wanted something that was plug and play as well with the correct connectors already attached as not to mess with the factory wiring. Some kits have wiring you need to add and just bypass the factory wiring. I have also read that installing the HID's will make your high beams not work anymore either but with the brightness of these why would you need any high beams. I also would like to do the low beams and the fogs as well just for a nice uniform look. There is another post about someone who installed a HID lighting kit but that post has seemed to have died. I tried a post about some HID lights called Bling lights but I only got one answer that wasn't worth my time reading. Any helpful info from someone who has done this modification would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen on a couple of posts on here that there is no HID fog light yet, and that the members that have them done have retro fit the bulb into the old one... I think I'll wait until someone puts out a kit for it though.  hth

Getting a maglite and mounting clips and installing it in one of the side boxes...

Good luck with the clips!  Try ACE hardware if there are any in your area... I went to about 8 places trying to find them... Sams Club has a whole kit with maglite, clips, and minimag... there is a thread around here somewhere...

Sorry about the  :jacked:  !
