Stinger has a new 325 amp alternator that is built for super duty/competition and is a drop in for most chevy '03-04 5.3. It has a cooling unit piggybacked to help dissipate the high heat levels that typically toast high output alternators. Eponylanche, this will definitely provide all the current you could ever dream of using!! Here is the link for those interested:

I wonder how many SPL competitors use it? I suppose it depends on the price.....which I'm sure won't be cheap! I'd almost be that it would be easier and less costly to just use a pair of HO Alts in the 200amp range with a custom bracket. I wonder how noisy that thing it at full range output too. Remember 10yrs ago when SQ competitors wondered why they had so many noise problems and were using ambulance alts in their systems. Rectifier bridges aren't perfect and you know an alt that size has to produce a ton of ripple.

Having said that though......that is a badass alt!

Hey Kodiak, you ever see the fellow that used 16HO alts in his SPL truck? He had one for each amp, it was quite a sight.

This may not be the right post for this something about mean green or something Alt. and starters.

Mad4wd Ltd. has 200 and 240 amp. Alt. for the Avalanche 5.3 motor

I have nothing to do with this company

"Allegedly" this baby produces far less noise than the oem as it is specifically designed for competitors where noise is a killer deduct. It is seriously built all the way through so it should be able to put out its rated power for a long time to come. I have no pricing yet, but I am sure you are correct DS----it ain't gonna be cheap!!
