So I took the clan up to Stevens Pass this weekend to ski and hang out at the Chevrolet Familyfest that was going on.
Among other things was two Avalanches on display. The first was a red 1500 Z-71 that was completely buried at the start of the day. Stevens has had 8-1/2 feet of snow in the last seven days so the red Avalanche had been under an avalanche. By the end of the day it was partially dug out. Would have loved to have hopped in, put it in 4 Lo and done the rest of the job.
The next was a Sage Green North Face edition Avalanche that the public could crawl around in. It was getting a lot of attention.
GM was giving out a ton of stuff and they had tents set up for the Trailblazer, Avalanche and Suburban. I was able to get an Avalanche polar fleece neck warmer! I missed out on the backpacks, which disappeared earlier in the day (argh!). The neck warmer is great with the gold Chevy bowtie, the Avalanche logo on black polar fleece (and it's good fleece, it really kept my neck warm). I got asked all day if I worked for Chevy (because they were wearing red jackets like I had).
If you're interested in attending a Familyfest and getting some free Avalanche stuff
here are the remaining dates and places:
Jackson Hole, Wyoming Feb 1 - 3
Big Sky, Montana Feb 8 - 10
Steamboat, Colorado Feb 15 - 17
Copper, Colorado 22 - 24
Camel Back, Pennsylvania March 9 - 10
All of the vehicles on display had Michigan plates, so I'm guessing they are driving a caravan around to these various ski areas. If one is coming near you I suggest check it out, but be sure to come by in the morning to nail your free Avalanche stuff!
