I just opened my mail.

Dear Customer, welcome, thanks,blah blah.

COUPON at bottom.
--------------------------------------
| 1 year Free Oil changes |
| Dealer Name/Address |
--------------------------------------

that's it.
Not one disclaimer!
No expiration date. Nothing.

Possibilites:
free MOBIL 1?
Wife Nissan?
Friends?
Other Avs?

I can make tons of copies and never have to pay again.

other than getting my free change, what would you/could you do with a coupon like this?

>:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

Dave02Z66 - should I send this to you and then you can have the GTG start there!?!

Actually, It's probably only good at my Dealer in DFW since it does have their name on it. But, I've never seen such a generic coupon from any company.

I'll take them up on it!

But, if ya'll want to come to Big D, I'll get you a copy.

They were nice enough to send you a free oil change coupon. Why screw them by making copies and handing them out. They might even read this web site and stop handing out coupons all together. Just my 2 cents worth

I'm just joking around. (see smiley on original message)

I just find it hard to believe that the way some people are with coupons nowadays that anybody would send out one that could potentially cost them alot of money if it got into the wrong hands.

heck i never even menioned the dealer.

I would though think it was funny though if 20 AVs pulled up at once with thess coupons.

:B: :B:
FWIW, part of my deal was "Lube-for-Life". The dealer will do 4 grease and oil changes per year as long as I own the Av......so far I've used 2, and I haven't parted with any $$$$ ;D

Heck,
My sales guy called a couple of weeks ago to see how I liked my AV. He then told me to come in for a free file-up!
Man I ran that thing down until it was running on fumes and then I took him up on his offer!!

I thought that was pretty cool!!!

Do you have any idea what the average car dealer spends on advertising? That full page add in a major-market newspaper may cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. Major radio station commercials are extremely exspensive, and television is completely out of sight. After spending that money the dealer has no gurantee that you, the consumer will respond. On the other hand he prints up a coupon for a few pennies, a few more pennies to mail it, promises you a $20 oil change, and he is practically guaranteed that you are going to visit his establishment, where he may have a chance to sell you additional maintenance, repairs, or even another vehicle. Most dealers would gladly give-up their cost of an oil change to get you in the door. Back in the days that I worked in a dealership we gave "free safty checks" to try to get people in the door. Pulled the wheels to check brake pads and linings, checked all the fluids, front end parts, etc. It was a good deal for the customer, and brought in alot of business for the dealership.

And SOME find all those things that just HAVE to be done.

And my wife....'we really need to do that' - ughhhhh.

Her last car used to have something else break everytime it was in the shop. That's why it is gone.

I have free lifetime oil changes. My first Av was replaced on the 3rd visit, once under it's own power, twice behind a wrecker durning the first 6 days of ownership.
It was replaced and they gave me lifetime oil changes for my troubles...

Now that's customer service!!

Good to hear a dealer do the right thing!

My Dealer gives a perks plus card which gets you a GM lube, oil, filter for $13.95, basic safety check and a free hand car wash with any service (including 13.95 oil change) then give you 5% towards your next vehicle purchase from his dealership on any service and get this.... you can loan the card to friends and family, they get the cheap oil change and wash, and better yet, you get the 5% on your tab. Max amount you can accumulate towards new vehicle is $2000.00 on your 5% money. If you want the dealers name, send a buck in a self addressed stamped envelope...nah-just kidding, ask and I'll tell you as long as you mention my name... might get me a better price yet on the next one.
