I dropped my 2003 Av off at the dealer yesterday. I had an appointment to have them resolve some front end clunking that I'd feel in the floorboard. I felt it primarily on right turns, and they told me on the phone that the steering rods probably needed to be lubricated.

They had the truck all day yesterday and couldn't pinpoint the problem and set me up with a rental. I paid an extra $5 to upgrade from a compact car to a Trailblazer (not a bad deal)...I digress.

I just received a call from the service department. The left front body mount needed to be relubricated and the clunking noise is gone.

Please let us know - I am learning to crawl under the AV and do some of my own work and would like to know where this needs lubed :)

I have my truck back, and the clunking seems to be resolved.

The service technician said this is not something that normally needs maintenance, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you have the clunking noise too. He said there is no grease fitting, it had to be removed, lubed, and reinstalled.

HTH.

I had a clunking noise on my '02 Envoy and on my Av. It turned out both times to be bump stops. The suspension on both trucks ride on the bump stops in front, all they needed was some greese where they make contact with the suspension member.

That's good info. My noise is probably 95% (maybe higher) gone...every once in a while I'll make a turn and feel that clunk. It's no where near what it was prior to taking it in on Monday. Perhaps there's another mount or "bump stop" that needs more grease..

I'll take it back next week maybe. I really hate being w/o my Av.
