I was wondering if anyone has installed a front hitch, for moving a boat or as a winch platform, or as a way to mount a platform for a large cooler or other equipment.
I have seen  front hitch setups for most Chevy Trucks but not the Avalanche or will the hitch for the full size pickup work.

I know I have seen hitches coming out of the tow hook spots on the front... can't think of who has it off the top of my head though... I'm sure someone will chime in!  :B:

Hey nfhjr

I installed a front hitch, 'WARN front mounted receiver hitch W3666215' ?on my 2004 WBH in May 2006. It cost me $209.25, but I don't know where I bought it. I have it listed in my MODS book, but did not record the store I bought it from (Internet purchase).
You will have to cut a square hole in your lower plastic air dam (WBH or CLADDED) and they give you photos and dimensions to follow for the hole. The instructions are sort of cryptic, and you have to be CAREFUL to make sure you use the correct photo for the air dam you have. When they say SILVERADO they mean WBH AVALANCHE and when they say AVALANCHE they mean CLADDED AVALANCHE.
I spent a lot of time laying out the hole and measuring 5 times and cutting once so it came out great for me.
If you get one, contact me for further assistance cuz there are some 'tricks' to an easier install.
Here is a photo . . .

I believe that was Alaska_AV

pretty sure Spork Driver has one.  BBA has one as well.

I found these a few years ago, they replace the factory tow hooks, pictures show a Silverado but does list 02-06 Avalanche in applications.

Warn also has the Transformer system, which is a grill guard that can be rigged with a winch mount or a 2" reciever (which can also be used with the portable winch). May be overkill if all you want is a hitch reciever, but if you're in the market for a grill guard....

I have installed a hitch on the front . the frame holes are the same as the rear so don't pay more for one for the front look around and you should find one for $150. or less good luck.
