Front suspension lift? (Alaska_AV?)

I personally think the AV looks odd with the front lower/rear higher, even with the 4x4. I would love to give it a level stance, but not 6" higher and certainly no lower. I have searched through the links-FAQ section and most of the talk is about lowering the rear (Tahoe or other springs) but it looks like Alaska_AV has the front raised.

Do my eyes decieve me and if not, does any one know of parts/kits to make it happen?
???

Hey SES - do a search on "Ford Keys"

There are a few topics that discuss this - both pros and cons. I bought a set to raise the front end - but have decided to go with the RCD 6" front lift and 4" rear lift when I can get the money saved up. THe Ford Keys are Torson Bar keys that allow you to crank the front end higher than the stock ones - with a gear puller it would take less than 2 hours and the cost on an alignment. The Keys are fairly cheap from Ford Parts Direct - like $36 shipped.

Read the threads - they explain it better than I would.

BTW - Alaska AV just did a 3" body lift - search for his last 100 posts - he took a lot of pics - very interesting.

Thanks Castle_Rock,
Good reading - Have you (or anyone who has done this) noticed any negitives with the suspension? It sounds like cranking the bolts and stock keys gets you the same result, I will investigate on my end and see what happens.
Thanks again

I bought the keys, but did not install them. Like I said, I think I am going with a dedicated suspension lift instead. Send a message to a few of the guys that said that they did this. Very few who have done it seem to have any complaints - just a lot of "know it all suspension experts" warning against it.

Hope it helped a little,

Steve
