Hello, new to the forum...I have a '07 Avalanche, I hv a bad fuel pump, all the videos on YT, show '06 or earlier cutting the inside panel to remove... nothing on to 07 or newer! Is the pump in the same place as gen 1's HELP!!!

First welcome to the website.
Most of the members who have had fuel pump etc. issues have just dropped the tank since it's the standard safe way to do the repair and check for other problems with rust on fuel or electrical lines. Just cutting an access door doesn't allow you to check everything on top of tank and have room to work if something is rusted together or breaks while working on the problem. Some also worry about vapor seeping into bed or even cab if an access panel is cut, then you also run the risk of setting yourself up for future rust issues if all edges aren't sealed after cutting.....
There are several older threads on this site with info and photos.
Good luck with your repairs.

not sure about ur 07 but I recently did my 02 with the access door. I pulled my seats and pulled my carpet back. when I put the patch back in I seam sealed it and used sheet metal screws. I'll do this again on 10 out of 10 trucks. it's so much easier than dropping the tank. I live in texas so rust is not an issue here. guess it depends on where u live....
