FUTURE Home floor wax? Who's tried it and what do you think?

why does rain leave white spots on flat surfaces? will they go away?

If it cures 1st, it doesn't.  It's rained every day since the GTG last Saturday and mine has no spots, just shines!  >:D

mine sat up for almost a week and was not driven to let it cure. now the vertical parts are not showing anything where water has been on them, just the flat parts.

How many applications so far?  Two applications with 1 -2 day drying time between coats is what I suggest.

Here are 2 pis I took 5 mins. ago showing a saddle lid and #3 panel. You can see they are still wet and not spotty.

How long between coats, and is it the Pledge Brand?

Also it the spotting is not general, but just some places, I suspect contaminates on the surface prevented it from curing.

I'm not sure how much difference there is between them. Sometimes product names change from region to region.  If you see the Pledge brand in a supermarket, and you see Future Wax, they may be different.

That depends on your weather. It it keeps raining, there's not much you can do right now.  If after it drys up, and you wash it, and its still there (after a good dry time of course), then you will have to re-apply again.

so do i wait to see if this dries up? or what do i do now? thanks

Start now.  Don't wait or getting it off will be harder.  I had the same thing happen to mine - white spots all over one of the panels.  The humidity overnight got it.  I took the panels and scrubbed them down with an Armstrong floor cleaner, washed that off really well with dish soap/water, then let them dry.  Scrubbed them with Windex, washed them again with soap/water,let that dry.  Took the panels IN THE HOUSE and re-applied the Future.  I kept the panels in house for 24+ hours until it dried really well, then put them back on the AV.  No white spots then.  Seems the trick is to keep them completely dry until the wax sets up.  Remember - this is floor wax.  It's not an outdoor product, so the drying time is major important.  Lots of elbow grease at this point, but worth the effort!!  Good luck!

Yes your right. Scrub right away. That's what I did. I meant reapplying may have to wait. When I did clean it was with a strong bristle brush and a lot of elbow grease (and simple green). The instructions actually recommend Ammonia. I have not read anyone trying that yet.

I put the Pledge floor wax on my Av bed covers and all the plastics today. So far it really looks good. It'll be sitting in the garage for the night & I'll be driving it to work tomorrow, with a chance of rain pretty much everyday for the next week or two.

Pretty bizarre putting floor wax on the truck. I would have never thought to use it. But thanks to this site. I look forward to it looking this good for a long time.

The Armstrong floor cleaner has ammonia in it - DO NOT take a sniff of the bottle when you open it to see what it smells like   You won't smell anything else for a long while.... :needhug:

It ended up being pretty dry today till about 4pm. The truck was in the rain for a couple hours till I got home & put it in the garage. So it dried for about 24 hours total, in the garage & outside in 40 degree temps.

This stuff looks GREAT!! (y)

No garage for me. Only enough room for two, so my wife gets the only spot.  :beating:

I'm in the weather all the time.
